I dont think things have changed much, cat still remains the same,i will suggest you do join a test series from any of the coaching centre for better prepration, rest basics remain the same for all.

Best of Luck!

I currently live outside India. I am keen to give CAT this year. Was wondering if IMS or TIME ship their correspondence materials to US?

Thanks for your help

WHICH INSTITUTE TO JOIN for CAT prep????

Is the first and very confusing question which one will encounter if he is an aspirant of top B schools and looking out for good institute.

I live in PUNE and I am aspiring to crack CAT 2010.
It was also difficult for me to figure out the same. But after extensive enquiry with past students and friends who have already made through good b schools; I came to a conclusion which i am very happy of....

I would like to guide my friends who aspire to do well in CAT.
While joining any Institute instead of thinking of what any cat prep institute claims ,one must consider what he requires!!!!.

You will get things like excellent infrastructure, extensive material and so on.
(But are these the things which we shell lot of money for...you can easily get good material in market at very low price)

We generally join an institute so that we get proper personalized guidance...

When I enquired in detail about the large institute (IMS,CF,CL,TIME,PT) I found that
yes they do give you good material and other things but when it comes to real grilling and in-depth personal attention these institute do not do the same justice and lag miserable.

One must not fall as target for TALL claims of great results of these players!!!

These are the points which I figured out which one must consider before joining any institute:-
1. Personal attention (top priority) it includes faculty.
2. Material quality
3. Results.
(One must insist on DEMO classes, to avoid future repent)

Anything other than this should not be considered while deciding for the institute. Cause it’s about your money, time and most importantly your career

( money we pay to these institute like IMS,CF,CL etc most of it is spend on marketing, infra and showbaji,,,i hope u understand)

After considering all these aspects I zeroed down on an institute named "SPARK".which is on FC rd.
They are great and there is lot of personal attention as well and best thing is that they offer Demo classes as well.

They don’t advertise and yet I find them effective and grt in the core aspect of teaching and attention and that’s what I consider the most important.

I am more than happy with my decision and wish you make a good one too.

SO friends please consider every aspect before joining because you should get what you have paid for. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

ALPHANUMERIC is run by two teachers nitin gupta & arunimma johaari who has worked previously with career launcher & ims.u will get personal attention also as for all the query u can directly talk to them , there is no mediator like counsellor , marketing guys etc. reputed journalist vikram johri also teaches english.

Re: Coaching classes for CAT ?? - 01-07-2009, 02:23 AM

to queen ekta and karan chaddha:
i was in the same dilemma over the past few days. i was studying with TIME last year but they horde masses and personal attention is zero.
recently two teachers from CL and IMS have opened their coaching in delhi - nitin gupta and arunima johri. i have researched a bit about them as i'd heard positive things about their institute alphanumeric. some english classes are taken by a journalist vikram. other than that there is no other faculty. and the three have very good feedback. i think i'll join them. they have 20-22 students per batch and lot of personal attention. a lot of iit, dce studets are there so competition will be good. they have also designed their online material and test series and i'm told that concept building is given a lot of attention there. these both teachers were known for their workshops even earlier etc, etc
now the negatives - the center is in karol bagh which is far from where i stay, g'bad. the entire practise material is online and paper bound material is only provided on specil requests. also i'm told that they have just two laptops for students, in case the student wants to attempt the online tests at the center itself.

Hi puys... I have heard some teacher called Byju is starting classes in Delhi. Got his pamphlet outside AIMCAT center. His tricks seem quite impressive. Any inputs about the teacher??
