Smile Day 1:::: - 10-01-2008, 12:17 PM

FOIBLE::

**A minor weakness or failing of character.

**The weaker section of a sword blade, from the middle to the tip.
It can also mean some sort of behvioural attitudes peculiar to certain people like idiosyncracies.........But I came I across the word in the sentence...." I have been fumbling around with the foibles of the French language.......

VILE::
**wretchedly bad, offensive, repugnant, depraved, despicable, morally debased, degraded, ignominious etc. etc...
Like we can say a vile humour etc...

EPIPHANY::
** If this word starts with the first letter that is E in capital, it means a Christian festival, observed on January 6, commemorating the manifestation of Christ to the gentiles in the persons of the Magi; Twelfth-day.
**But for other cases, it means, an appearance or manifestation, esp. of a deity or
** a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience
** a literary work or section of a work presenting, usually symbolically, such a moment of revelation and insight.

Like we can say....... The art work was an epiphany showing me the true meaning of life.....

OXYMORON::
** a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in "cruel kindness" or "to make haste slowly."
This is propbably self-explnatory..like a silent boom can be an oxymoron....

PERTINENT::
** pertaining or relating directly and significantly to the matter at hand; relevant: pertinent details.
Like we can say.....My boss is always piqued when I miss out on the pertinent details of the project....
