I also have the same query about any classes given by CL for GD/PI at this point of time. I tried to contact a few CL centers that are close to my home town..like Kailash Colony(New Delhi) and Chandigarh branch but they said that their batches had been over in feb-march itself...Can you please suggest how should I go about the preparation for GDs based on case studies?(I have cleared NIFT Mftech written exam and will be sitting for their GD/PI in a few days time...and they have GDs based on case studies) Your advice will be of great help... Thanks in advance...

You should target the following areas:

1) Good English skills so do a lot of reading and speaking(in English).
2) Quantitative skills to help you deal with numbers
3) Reasoning skills to help you crack DI/AR.

Hi tulipz,

Case studies are basically business(or other) situations that require a solution. A group of students is generally given a handout each describing the situation. The students have to read it, analyze it, discuss it amongst themselves and give a solution to the problem.
How to go about it, eh? Well, practice makes a man(or a woman) perfect!

hey arindam, i have cleared the iift final list. what do you suggest that i should read before joining iift. (hoping that i can do that if the obc thing doesnt reduce seats for us general candidates.) could you please mention some of the books which would give me a good base to start my mba studies from. I am from engg background, so not much of idea of the curriculum. does cl have any such introductory mba classes for mba cleared people?

Congrats to you first of all for getting through. My suggestion would be not to get too much psyched about being prepared and all and relax. After all, you are not the first engineer to join IIFT.

All said and done, what you can do is keep on reading ET and a business magazine like Businessworld. Even the regular business section of a regular newspaper should be helpful.

How to answer questions on a scene and object shown to us (primarily in welingkar they ask questions like this)....and if i m unable to initiate on a GD then how can i give my contribution towards a group as the initiator mostly steals the show
