B Tech 63% from UDCT matunga( B tech in DYESTUFF TECHNOLOGY)

i m 2007 pass out ..didnt join any company for job as i any how wanted to do mba so decided to take break to prepare for it, though real reason for not joining job is tht we had no campus tht year also i tried from outside but thr wasant any VACCANCY .But sum of my friends got the job but it was like selling chemical. i wasant satisfied by tht ( as i did my b tech from one of the well known college for chemical studies i didnt want to do tht kinda job).as cat was comin closer i stopped searching job and started my preparation but i didn't get good score in cat (70 %tile) also tried snap got 65 also less and recently given MH CET which was easy and hoping for good result
To tell u more about low score from the start only i felt tht cat is not my cup of tea or rather getting into iims...

now my question to u is
1. how shud i defend my 1 yr gap ?
2. And according to u what questions i can expect in the interview looking at my backgrond?
And pls through sum light how shud i prepare for gd-pi??

cat : 79%ile xat : 83%ile
due to some reasons it took 2 more years to complete my b.tech
in PI if i give valid reason will they consider me if i performed well in gd & pi or they opt me out based on my profile

Hi Ashish,

First of all, don't get psyched by what "strong" resume others are having, there is nothing like that. Its all a matter of realising your strengths and presenting them in a highlighted manner. So, if extra-currics is not your forte, you need to introspect, reflect and find out what really drives you, what excites you in life, what is it you can discuss for hours with someone.

Then, try to lead the interview towards those topics and your job shall be done.

Hi Kalpesh,

1. Since you didn't get a good score in CAT it wud be difficult to say you took gap yr. to study. Only way you can justify is by saying the truth that you didn't get the job of your expectation and you were preparing for CAT/MAT/XAT/CET also.

2. You can expect a lot of questions from Chemical engg. looking at your background as far as acads is concerned.

Hi Arindham. I am Shraddha. I had appeared for CET this year. What are the group discussion topics asked for CET. Are they of the same difficulty level as CAT. Is there any particular site where I can get information about GD topics.

Hi Shraddha,

There is no qualitative difference in the GD topics for CET or CAT. You can visit the nearest Career launcher centre for a detailed list & other material for your GD/PI preparation.

Hi Arindham,

I hav a gdpi call from IIM Shillong, this is my only call this year. I never expected a call and didn't attend any gdpi classes. I have my gdpi on 27th, please let me know if there are any gdpi classes being conducted by CL, if not wht should be my approach for preparation??

PS: I hav not attended gdpi of any institute earlier...
