UDT, as promised, here are the first Four Qs that should make your introspection itenary for the next one week.
The Qs are directly lifted from CL's IMF...so ppl who r gonna attend that program or for that matter any other PDP program will have a definite edge for sure, coz within one month, I'm sure most of us will be having a much more definite knowledge about ourselves than the rest who r gonna attend the programs.
Please go through the files included here: tarang's Business Files eSnips Folder
These include some pointers on how to direct your essays...however, all the pointers need not be taken seriously. Think about yourself and write roughly 400 words about urself in the four different segments given below. Be truthful.
1. The major/significant changes that have happened in your life so far. Bring out the people, purposes, goals and other reasons that have caused these significant changes/decision.s What are the goals you have set for yourself? What do you want to achieve?
2. Write about yourself as a person...as a professional, a friend, a son/daughtyer. Explore the important facets of your life and tell us what you are really good at and where you need to improve yourself. Give examples of various aspects in which you felt you need to develop yourself. What have you done about those aspects?
3. Describe how you typically respond yo problems facing you. These problems could be in any sphere of your life. Give examples of situations where you took charge of a difficult situation and resolved it.
4. The goals that you have set for yourself in the past. How you have gone about achieving them. What lessons have you learned from these that you could apply to your further pursuit of future goals. Do you believe that your efforts influnece the results you achieve in your life? The initial few lines of each essay must be really tedious as most of us won't have any clue about the situations. I'd say take any ordinary event as an example and add a grandiose touch to it so that it looks extraordinary. If you people think that 1 week is a little too much for this, we can extend it as it is just the first week of our 'formal' introspection. No more concessions from the next time onwards.
UDT...kick off!

Deepu's questions for the day:
Topic - GLobalisation
1) what is globalisation ?
2) when people trade how do both sides benefit ?
3) what are positive effects of globalisation ?
4) what are negative effects of globalisation ?
5) what role do institutions like IMF, world bank and WTO play in globalisation ?
Hope these questions are relevant and will add to our repertoire..

Tati | This thread would cater to all GDPI prep realted issues. The earlier UDT 2006 thread will still be active till the end where it would be a thread where all the calls, results, and converts would be posted.
Dear UDT members, please take note that we have decided to split it because of the over-whelming response on the UDT thread, so as to streamline information. Please understand the purpose of the 2 threads and adhere to the same. Unlike business situaton where one side loses and other wins , this is a win win situation for everybody. UD team can continue team building excersie and their prep for GD/PI and others can access the info at the right place and even join in.
I hope this will work out as planned.

Good going...
As of now the general set-up is there will be 5 questions asked daily and junta will discuss the same. The next morning the originator of the questionaire will summarise all the discussion adding his own points..
it is advised to follow these basic rules devised by Arun chacha.. 1. The originator should avoid particiapation in the discussion till situation goes out of control or in wrong direction. The basic reason is to encourage others to question every thing and try to find the answer. It is assumed that originator knows more and his particiaption may cut short the discussion/imagination. As everybody will tend to believe him and may turn lazy. Hence no spoon feeding. 2. After healthy discussion has taken place and sufficient time has been given to everybody for partici[ation, originator can list important points with any additional info. Also it is important to refute any wrong notions/understanding, which might have come into discussion. 3. Also while asking the question just check whether this is stand alone question or some prior knoqledge is required. In case prior knowledge is required then questions should be asked in proper sequence so that prior knoqledge is developed before asking advanced question. Most imoprtant, there are no rules, as long as we are doing things in good faith we are free to take any liberties san spamming. | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to deepu For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Hi all..
Amazing discussions going on.
I will also get into the discussions and post stuff. I would also like to contribute whatever knowledge I have gained thru my work. I will try to make the whole thing as simple as possible.
I am into projects-sales and marketing and some part of my job revolves around taxes (like sales tax, service tax, works contract tax, blah blah), duties (excise duty, octroi etc.), VAT, commercial terms etc. To what extent are the basics of these stuff important ?
If important, we will discuss, else ll chuck it. We will continue the stock market/globalisation stuff.
