MY AIPGM experience..sab milke bolo

Well back from AIPGM and truly what a turn out.the enthu was rocking ..

I apologize for being dull and silent unlike I have been in my meets.. first time it was so .. It just happened that some personal issues and my health was not good.. I was about to cancel my coming but as per my commitment and the charm of meeting puys couldn't back out

Had been to countless PG meets..n that too in various cities across. but All India always have a distinct ring.
well already details have been given and it will b provided by many in coming posts.so let me cut short with The juice of everything as what my experience was
well cant list the names as they were so many.. Its been always good to put faces to names.. getting jhtakas. n one of my gratest jhtaka was Mahip.. ( will b telling about them more in testimonial thread for more relevance)

Hats off too the enthu of bangy puys. Truly great work though many will crib about slip between cup n lip. but I guess in bade bade meet mein choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai

great organization work by bangy puys
taking care of receiving us n coordination was good.
turn out was awesome
Apurv should make a full time rock band..seriously this guy is blessed..rock solid performance by tatimatla and richa12...the song PG rocks is still on my lips.. truly amazing. Also the way Apurv played whole night ..awesome!
grondie is a good anchor.. I wonder what might have happened to his throat considering the mic was going ON n off

anyways there were also few stuff that happened that left me sad

( these are my personal opinion one may or may not subscribe to it. I Know I will be groaned for this.)

Newbies were discouraged when they came on stage to give there intro also. Some of newbies as what they told me felt left out.
I believe a larger all India meet should not have some kinda cheap thrills. some indecent songs and activities were really was out of box and with gals around it was very disappointing and unexpected that ppl were allowing this to happen. Not an encouraging scene.
Those who dont drink were like ppl with no interest.
If show is going on then stopping ppl to eat till 1.30 .. shouldn't it be a voluntary exercise those who want can move .
As per quiz one oldie was reqd in each team. question were made like that as only the oldie can answer ..noting for newbies ..( in oldie we mean those who joined 5 yrs ago not the new ones. they were also )
After the rock show.. no DJ to dance..

In the end it did satisfy my hunger to meet people. but it has left me sad with the process in true activity sense.I wonder what will encourage me to come back again next time other than meeting puys. I agree with the fact too that we need to break the ice and get involved but oldies should also give some window.hope next time it will b more of fun.

What better way to break my hiatus from PG than a description of "THE ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE"

...

Elvis Fans have Graceland . PG Junta has AIPGM...!!!

And Yes - Its not the same without Allwin!!

The growing strength and development of the forum was visible in the vibrancy and volume and change of tone of the meet ..!!!

First - the positives ...

An amazing turn - out of puys - members as old as Member number 300 odd

(who proved to be extremely powerful in the trivia quiz) to newbies of a month ago...

And precision point organisation...

Tremendous planning exercise by the Bangalore Junta...

It is not easy to organise and carry out safely an exercise of such proportions specially where you have different units joining together at different points of location

But the organisers made it look easy.

Terrific credit to Prem Ravi and Grondie and estranged and deep and macora and esh.nil and to all those who worked silently behind the scenes to make the whole event posssible....

The best part of the AIPGM is to be able to put a face to the ids ...

Online interaction creates certain impressions in your mind ...

You go to the AIPGM..And Hey!! You find that you have to radically revise your impressions...

I remember that last year on the BBLT thread I had a couple of arguments with andy_jaan over issues that we did not see eye to eye

But Having met him at the Meet ...I came back with the feeling ..Hell - I was wrong!!!

He is a terrific guy to have around in a forum like PG...

OfCourse at times people turn out to be exactly as you imagine them to be . I mean after meeting MonsterKartik ..Can you even imagine that he could have any other id ?? And I am talking about size here...

It was great catching up with old friends like made for iims and sumitrocks and Bugs Bunny and profootball and the miracle worker amit_nsitian and Girish and Quant God Aarav and the ever inspiring rajat_nda and rmbt (Who brought me up to date on the latest happenings on PG!) and vinit_nitd and Mahip (who seems to be losing weight by the Kilo ..wonder what they do to him at Nirma!!!) and JourneytotheIIM (Wish you convert IIM-L..Hang in there..!!)and richa 12..and nikhilkulk whom people still were calling nikhilHULK!! (Junta knows best!!)

Finally got to meeet Harsha Rocks... a true puy in every sense of the word...and a HORRIBLE BOWLER...

..

Met up with some puys for the first time...sid_dharth , Swarnali , Macora..the truly motivating Harshadk (How could the IIMs have refused him last year??) .. a slightly off form Diablo rulez (rumour has it that one day before the AIPGM he was trying to build his body into something matching Khali but only ended up spraining his elbow and wrist ..thats his story though some of us doubted the veracity of it..

)...Parminder Saluja (who has an uncanny resemblance to that side-kick of Hrithik in Kaho Na Pyar Hai -- The one who used to say LE Lijjjjiye na sir!!! And to think before the AIPGM I used to think Parminder Saluja was a girl!!!)

Finally got to meet Deep and Amrutesh from the BBLT team of 2007 and it was an absolute pleasure..

Nice Tees prepared just in time for the AIPGM..

And now the BrickBats!!!

Next AIPGM -we should ensure that there is no television for miles around..

It can become a big distraction at times...!!!

Can we also cut down on the Alcohol content of the AIPGM???

The point of the AIPGM is interaction among Puys...It is NOT a DAARU Party..

.. a certain amount of drinking within limits is fine ... And like it or not the mods will have to lead in this by Example...

Also - Let's keep the Entertainment clean!!!

This is a bunch of some of the smartest people in the country. We do not have to resort to humour of the lowest common denominator to elicit a chuckle.!!!!

It is the only way we can expect a lot more of the fairer sex to be present at future AIPGMs....and that is essential for the development of this forum..

Also we need to work on the involvement of the newbies ... Free -fall interaction is great but more effort will need to be made to make the group gel.....There were newbies who seemed positively lost at this AIPGM....

I know all this is not easy to digest

. But somebody has to carry the bad news from AIX to GHENT..

The point I am trying to make is that when I attended the last PG Meet at Mumbai..My conclusion was WOW!!! I WANT TO COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

I am not sure how many of the newbies went back with that feeling from this meet..

I Just hope I am wrong...

But I am very confident that as long as there are puys like the ones I mentioned in my post and many more that I am sure I have left out ...PG IS HERE TO STAY!!!

After all....

PG ROCKS !!! PG RULES!!

Don't worry Tanveer Bhai, unlike CAT life doesn't have negative marks for wrong responses and unlike GMAT in life you can always go back and change your responses later

So finally settling this (that) issue once and for all I guess I am posting first time on that incidence and the only thing I wanna say to all puys (Hameed,Prashant,JLT,Grenie) is......... "God Promise, I was not arguing at all"

Hi guys, I am in Mumbai from the 09 to the 15th of June... Would love to meet up with some people who I haven't met before, like Puneet, ringsofsaturn, etc.
Since we have a few summer trainees, there are chances of people meeting up as well.

Please tell me you guys are interested. Would love to have a nice big PG meet before I leave Mumbai

PS: 14th is a Saturday. 15th is also do-able

24th May, 2008:-

5.45 AM: Woke up, tried calling Delhi puys(Phones switched off), so safely assumed that their flight is on time. Called up MAC at around 6.00 AM (he was on his way to Majestic). What little apprehensive as we were determined to do a good show.

6.15 AM: Esh calls me & asks for the directions to my home.

6.20 AM: Esh reaches my place. After a cup of coffee, we start sticking the AIPGM printouts on my CAR.

6.30 AM: Delton aka Rock & Roll calls me to inform that he has reached Banaswadi.

6.35 AM: Poor Esh starts writing down the PuyScars winners(Dictated by my wife. Fumbling with the Thread names

)

6.40 AM:Journey Starts. Picked up Rock & Roll, the excitement starts

6.50 AM: Mac confirms me the departure of Bus from Majestic.

7.00 AM: Called GANTIS, worried that train is still in AP.

7.45 AM: Amru confirms the arrival of Bus at BTM. Called up Sid & he says his bus is terribly delayed. Spoke to the Bus driver & asks him to drop Sid & Zephyr near Airport instead of Hebbal (Change in Plan)

8.08 AM: Reached Airport. Called Amitnsitian. Flight has arrived. Very happy that we were on time. Between Sid calls me to say that they have reached the Airport road.

8.10 AM: After thinking for a couple of minutes, dropped Rock & Roll + Esh & asks them to receive the Delhi Puys

8.15 AM: Picked up Sid + Zephyr & Amru confirms me the departure of Bus from BTM & also on the attendance.

8.45 AM: Received the Delhi gang. People were hungry. Our guys almost ransacked the Subway food. Our guys were so hungry that they fought over the food spilling it on the floor. A guest there comes and says "Such a nice Airport & you guys have soiled the floor"

9.15 AM: JournettotheIIMs flight delayed by 40 Mins. HR confirms the departure of Bus from Marthahalli.

9.55 AM: JTI arrives. Amru calls me to inform that Gantis will board the bus from Yelahanka. Tension relieved.

10.45 AM: Bus arrives to airport. People at Airport were relieved. Couple of intros. Journey started towards the Resort at 11.00 AM.

11.30 AM: Bus stops for the guys to go & get their DHAARU.

12.30 PM: We reach the resort.People are happy to see the resort after an irritating journey. The moment we reach the resort, couple of guys say " Bhai, kaisa pakada yeah resort"

12.45 PM: Got a confirmation from the Mumbai/Pune team that they are 3 hours away.

1.30 PM: Hungry puys hog. A decent lunch followed by an Intro session as OXY wanted to know people.

2.45 PM: The Jai Maharastra Gang arrives.

3.30 PM: Fun starts, couple of guys playing water polo, some of them TT, some of them cricket, some of them just chatting & so on

6.00 PM: People move to watch cricket. Apurv & Co were busy rehearsing. Rohit, me, Mahip, Grondi tensed about the stage not being ready.

7.00 PM - 1.00 AM: Stage set. Speech starts, followed by Quiz & then by a great consert (Kudos to Tati, Richa & Apurv). People were enjoyong their Dhaaru with Music. Nishant & Srikanth finally arrived. HR was in full flow. Never seen him singing Angrezi songs.Amit was damn hungry. Every 10 mins he asked me "Sirjee, bhook lagh rahi hai, Kaana". Between MODs decide to get into a conspiration..hehhehe. Rohit circumvents our requests.

After this not sure what happened as I went to sleep & could get up at 10.15 AM only (Thanks to Esh & Amru for getting the Breakfast till the room) & went out of the room only when the bus (Localities) was ready for departure. People said "Finally Good Morning" hahahah.

2.30 PM: Decided to leave after the photo session.

Net net a great meet.

Happiest Minute: The moment I met my bro - HarshadK

Saddest Minute: When Mac became senti & made me senti as he left Bangalore once for all.

Exciting Minute: Every minute when I was awake.

Between had a separate session with Bangy newbies..Hope next year we have the team set & Bangy wins the most active city award.
