I begin with thanking those Puy friends who knew of my wedding, and yet wanted me alone to do the honours of starting the thread.. thank you for your patience, I know its a tad too late..
After the quadruple jolt on May 1, I needed time to recover psychologically n regain my sanity (or to be geographically correct, my insanity ) to post on this very cherished event.. and, to some extent, the impending wedding did help me come out of it much faster..
Moreover, for the benefit of those who always wanted to know "how it all transpired" in my own words - this is the time n this is the place (also to save my fingers from RSI - the same keystrokes for conversations/story stretching over hours again n again on gtalk/YM!!)
So I wanted to post only when I was back to my normal self..
Coming to the point, I guess it may be a first of its kind.. 2 Puys marrying.. a PG wedding.. to tht extent, I think I might hv beaten many a budding chemistries n biologies at it .. however, it isnt entirely correct, technically speaking.. as I knew her before she became a Puy, albeit passive..
Coming to how it all transpired
Pairs are made up there, they say.. well, I wud say I still don't know
We owe our company to Dhirubhai H. Ambani and Anil D. Ambani!! 'cos it was under the "aegis" of Reliance Communications that we almost accidentally crossed paths..
Now, skeptics n cynics may stop reading, as what follows will sound just too good to be true.. almost philmy.. freakish..
Date: August 7th, 2004
Venue: Find A Friend (an anonymous kinda chat application on R World)
A certain Dost Indeed sends a regular "Hi.. saw ur profile.. liked it.. wanna be friends?" to a Himani.. next day, he finds a +ve reply.. Dost was in Bangalore then, and Himani in Delhi..
Soon, the anonymity gave way to exchanging numbers, then to exchanging sms, then exchanging chat IDs n sooner than they realised, they were spending almost 8-10 hrs a week on chat.. Now this Mr Dost was then preparing for CAT, DOG, MICE, etc. So, whenever he used to go for PaGaL-ing, Ms Himani used to align her online visits - usually, both from cyber cafes.. while Himani was a sort of cheerleader for Dost after a bad mock, the latter returned the favour by playing her Agony Uncle on personal/career front..
Somewhere down the line, the silly Cupid struck them for each other, which they confessed only later.. but Mr Dost didnt wanna get "distracted" from his preps-n-exams mode, while Ms Himani always felt tht her feelings were overly farfetched..
Eventually, on the fateful night of 15th Jan 2005, abt 15 hrs before his FMS exam, Dost felt tht he just cudnt tolerate the beating-around-the-bush mode any longer, and popped the question.. funnily enough, again on an sms!! (as Ms Himani cudnt take calls tht late in the night)
It turned out tht both had feelings for each other, but "practicality" kept delaying wot they fondly term as GD (Grand Disclosure)
Now this Dost guy eventually ended up in a Delhi instt tht year, which was when the two "love-birds" first met!! Four months down the line, Dost was ejected out of the instt for non-fulfillment of one of the admission pre-requisites.. and again, the pair got separated.. Dost headed homewards, to Ahmedabad..
But most importantly, their resolve only got stronger.. they got to meet only twice in 12 months after that.. and on second meeting, things started shaping up for a formal relationship, as this Dost introduced Himani to his parents.. soon, the other side also agreed for the match.. and 4 months hence, they got engaged..
And now, a year after it, they are getting married Saath Mein (7th May)
I still shudder at the thought of the way it all happened.. imagine, every min, 24 profiles used to get loaded on the system of Find A Friend, and the earlier 24 got erased..
Well.. to me, its nothing short of a miracle
But our mutual resolve of standing morally together against odds on all fronts is making it happen
This day, two friends exchange vows to be for each other for life… the rightful culmination of a long-standing and time (and distance)-tested association.
We feel immense pride at this achievement of sorts, and seek your wishes and blessings in this moment of our happiness.

Gr8 news. Very happy for you! Hope you too have an extremely happy and fulfilling life together. Best of luck to both of you for the beautiful future that lies ahead.

Awesome story of your getting together!!! I never believed this was possible in real life..you two fell in love without meeting each other!And that belief has held strong over the years,even when you have hardly been able to meet...may you two live happily together forever!!

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is little voice at end of day that says I'll try again tomorrow!!
