Why are the following categories not present this year? 
Most Missed User
Most Annoying User (Nothing Personal) Best Avatar (Not the coolest)
Worst Username
Best Nickname Cooked up at PG
Best section on PG
Employee of the year at PG HQ
I presume some of them are not present coz the mods wanna avoid unnecessary groaning.

This is an exercise in indentifying and laudating the excellence that exists amongst us on the forum. There are enough fun-awards that let us enjoy the zanyness that permeates the forum. But more than that, this is a much more serious endeavour.
Hence, we felt that the less serious of the awards can be removed. Some were removed because of lack of information amongst the laity. For eg., who knows all the employees at PGHQ, now that it has expanded so much? I myself find it difficult to keep track some times. Hence. Quote:

To answer you ,
1> Yes, the judges can be nominated for awards.
2> They were selected because we thought that these people have been part of the community for long and have contributed a lot in the past but have not done anything great last year to be nominated for many awards
Hence, these are the people who have PG in their blood but also wont create too many instances of conflict of interest
