Aristo , who is a student of GIM and has been working with us as a Summer Trainee went to Alibaug and checked out the place.

Here is what he found out -

Journey

Gateway - Mandwa fort 45minutes to 1 hour Ferry(65 rs - 110 rps)
Mandwa Fort - Alibagh 25-30 minutes Bus(Provided free by the Ferry traporter)
Alibagh - Nagaon beach 20-25 minutes 6 Seater autos(about 10 Rs per person)

Total time taken to reach the beach from Gateway Of India -approx 2 hours

After leaving the bus at alibagh we have to take six seater to reach the beach. These six seaters run on shared basis with each one taking in almost 10 people with them but can be taken to a specified place with a preset amount.Available in abundance

Rohit- We will be able to hire a bus for ourselves.So this will be managed

After reaching "shivaki ka putla"[landmark] in Nagaon a right turn from this palce would lead directy to the beach (approx 3-4 kms inside)

The place we plan to stay is called "Vidula lodge"

Location - 2 minutes walk away from the Nagaon beach

( I love this part....2 min from the beach and a night..yahoo )

Accomodation - 4 rooms and one hall

2 rooms - with bathroom (carrying capacity for 3 each(ideal for the ladies)
2 rooms- without bathrooms(outside) can carry almost 6-8 people each with the mattresses on the floor
1 hall - with bathroom( carrying capacity of 25 and 15 in the balcony) with mattresses on the floor

Rohit - I know, I know, not the most luxurious kinds, but anyone will mind with so much insanity around ?

There is enough space for people to sit outside the rooms in the shade. The person incharge did mention that he has almost 40 chairs and 15-20 more can be arranged at a prior notice.

FOOD - No hotels in close vincinity but the lounge can cook if told in advance.

Mobile- absolutely no mobile coverage for Airtel, Hutch or any other private operators. THe mobile showed a network availability of BSNL but then couldn't be connected (manually) after 2-3 trials.

Beach- Big and decent beach as compared to mumbai ones but no way closer to the ones existing in GOA. Not at all sandy but good space available to indulge in any of the activities. A nice place for a walk or a game of football. No lighting available on the beach. (2 minutes away from the lounge)

There are quite a few places that can be checked out i.e. Mandwa fort, Alibagh Fort, Some Temple, beaches etc.


Rohit - Looks good to me.Almost everything is set! All we need now is lots of pagals and lots of masti...

after hearing the description i can barely wait to hop hop into the flight and show off my tee to the co-passengers

25 -30 ppl sleeping together... nostalgic feelings of those college trips cant wait to get back to em .... who cares abt anything when insanity will be all around

best part: no mobile connection...no sudden calls from office
worst part: no mobile connection...will have to convince someone for the next 5 days abt the scenario to avert future disaster

OMG ! All the great ones are descending, apun ko bhi thoda puntergiri karne ka hai .

All Mumbaikars and Thanekars, since we donot get the privelge of getting the air tickets the least we can get is a free ride to the airport .

Jokes apart, Shyam (ssu039) and me confirmed coming for the AIPGM !
