Our Alumni section is still a bit dull because of the hectic schedule the Bschooles have....we cant ask them 4 more ne way...

however....letz hope that the alumni contributes more and mre to the forum in the coming years.....

But I was thinking...Arent we kinda limiting the whole thing to a mere B School.. Yes, I know we all are here to get into an MBA program... but do u think the resource wise, we can only come up with a sectional cut off...or decent articles about 'How to..' .. Hmmm...Why not go beyond all these academics & reach out...

and also regardin doin somethin for the NEEDY:

Well.. This also came up in the meet but went off somewhere tangentially!! PGz .. Do u think ppl would meet (let us say in Mumbai!!) every alternate Sunday to come up with something worthwhile for some lesser privileged!!! That is something that we can really work about considering the no. of ppl who would be ready to offer something (if not in terms of money then in terms of time/ energy)

RIGHT SAID WMOD!!!I agree wit u.
i think ppl wud b willin to come fwd for a just cause...n me also thinks v need to take the initiative as soon as poss....why not this sunday for a start??atleast v cud come up wit some IDEAS wat can b done!!!

all dat is needed is the INITIAL PUSH...then the ball will start ROLLING!!!i am sure!!

Gokulnath Pai, Calcutta

Yep, I would say you have made the name "Lijo" famous. Everytime there is a namesake, he gets instantly queried "Lijo ? as in Lijo Isac of cat2k2 ?"

If I got a cent for every flame mails I got, I would have be relaxing in my beach-house in the Bahamas

But seriously, our major concern was to nip inane posts at the bud. The thing that used to iritate me the most (now im far more sober and mellowed down) was people used to post without reading previous post. Sample "Im weak in XYZ, how to improve ?" Soon I realized that it might not be their fault as yahoogroups was not very search-friendly.

Oh yea, those names surely stir up some memories Thanks for putting my name first though But seriously I think cat2k2/pg are a lot more than just MBA. I remember the first guy to meet when i landed in B'lore 8months back was Philip (at Jaynagar 4th block ). And when I met Prasanna for the first time after about 1year of cat-ship (thru sms, chat, phones) I hardly felt I was meeting him for the first time. The list grows...........

Couldnt have put it in a better way !! WTG PG. WTG Mods. Im especially appreciative of Anil and Chandoo. Both these dudes are awesome.

As such all those who are involved in the managing of PG.com don't actually need an MBA. I would rate them better than any IIM-A guy ANYDAY !!

An awesome post Allwin...great work.

I started surfing this forum around Oct 2003 and boy was i hooked to this site!!!
The sheer volume of information stacked up, left me in awe.

I remember, Allwin saying somewhere in Jan 2004, that how managing PG.com financially is becoming difficult. but as Capreal has said, server/money constraints should never be a problem for PG.com. People can always pool in..with close to 3000 members n increasing..managing 200 dollars/month shouldn't be difficult.

So, wat r the future plans??? Allwin did mention that he plans to take this site the portal way..anything in the offing??

Keep up the good work Allwyn........

U surely deserve kudos for creating the family of PGites. No word is enough to show the extent of appreciation we have for ur efforts.

The other day, I was telling Subbu that I have forgotten how exactly I got to know of the forum in the first place.

This thread has made me recollect the source. It was cat2k2.

My sincerest thanx to all related in any way to the cat2k2 group for letting me know about the forum.

May the forum grow stronger by the day.

an awe inspiring post from PG. it's really nice to find a place where u can discuss virtually anything, of course, abt the 'billi' n stuff too, make pals and learn a big deal of thingz...

been picking up lot of lessons for more than an year, but resisting the temptation to join the forums, as i knew it's a bigtime addiction [curtsey the forums at my college ]. finally i m among PGites n it's a proud association for me.

although, i still carry the 'newbie' tag, kinda felt senti after goin' thru all this discussion ... lookin' fwd to be on the PG forever

Hey everyone!
I am probably one of the newest members to post on this thread. And I came to know of this thread thru a Time discussion forum after the cancelled Cat.
Well first things first..Hats off to Allwin for having come up with a peach of a forum for Cat aspirants. It could not have come a day earlier for me.The quality of posts ,the feel of the site and of course its moderators like Anil who keep the site a hallowed ground for Cat crazy people makes this a one of a kind forum.
This post in particular has been a lesson in the making of PaGaLGuY.com.It definitely is as someone rightly said a prime example of persistence. Thanks for posting this .Its always nice to know "Where it all began..?".
Allrite ..now I have a query for Arun(Psychodementia) .How do you know Lijo Issac ? Is that through Cat2K2 forum? We used to have our coaching classes in Trivandrum at Career Plan(rechristened Career Launcher) for 2K2 preparation.Gokul was our senior at CP who eventually made it to IIM C(having written Cat 2K1).
Keep the good work going guys!
Issac John
