Bangalore meet ... minutes...

Our meet was a roaring success

Six of us for close to 4 hours Well, calculate the total time divided by total number of ppl and you'll be stumped

We planned to meet at 12.30 sharp in Mota royal arcade... Brigade road. I colluded with Praveen that we'll meet before that in the same place. Praveen tolme the previous day that he'd bring along Arun and an other guy (coming to it...) with him. And Neha tolme 10 had confirmed. So was expecting a stampede near the place :P

Finally, I was at 12.15 at the place and pulled my mobile out, called praveen... but there was this big guy coming towards me with both the hands open ... he intro'ed himself as Praveen. Ahaaa.. finally, after 6 months of SMSing and PHONEing I managed to meet him He introduced the other guy a.k.a Sandeep to me. Apparantly Sandeep is a regular browser of our forum but he hasnt got an user id. For abt 15 mins we were discussing the advantages of signing up in PG

In the meantime we saw a guy staring at us for quite sometime and as soon as we started speaking abt PG, he came towards us.. He was sivarka...or Siva R.K.A He turned out to be my school senior long time back in Madurai :P

Tring, tring.. sms from Neha that she's already at the place... turned my face 360 degree.. and I found her with the "are u the one" look. No doubts.. got introduced. Thot atleast 5 made it finally

We waited, chatted, looked around, stared the place for abt 1hr.. no one else turned. Then we decided to move out to French Pizza or whatever...

1 hr done...phew...got a lot more.... rest after some posts

was wondering abt the name...but wat the....started off with nill pre -concieved notions!....chook chook....(auto!!!)
reached "french bread pizza"........hmm thats sounds nearly ..,(am i a lil hard of hearing?)
sim scanneer wks -- cant see any1 on 1st floor....few gals with black lisptick & looking like those witches...in ramsay bros!

Looks like Ive stopped others from posting

Here goes ...

We went to 'Friends at pizza' at Residency road. Sat in a round table and went into chatter and banter. Neha gets a call.. she pulls out two mobiles and announces that Simran (true full name...sorry sim.) couldnt control is abt to join us. 4 out of the 6 of us were from T.N. Our hearts pounded when we heard Simran is joining us. There was also a group of hippes (yes!) near our table. So we decided to initially make sim wonder which ones are frm PG. Finally decided against it since the hippies were way out of the world . Sim comes... but alas, this sim is new to South India

We chatted for abt 1 to 1.5 hrs there. No specific thing.. and unlike in Mumbai, no one specifically ruled the roost . We missed PG . Most of the time we spent waiting for the so-called large pizza. Pieces were smaller than my college donuts!
After having enuf, we moved to the Corner house.


Only one table available, and 3 of us took Death chocolate something. (no kidding) supposed to be very famous. Twas nice, but u need to eat raw chocolate to finish it off. First time in my life i couldn't complete an ice-cream..what a shame!
Thank God we spent lotta time while eating. As soon as we completed, the respectable-mr.shop-owner comes and explains the over-population problem in India and the unavailability of chairs Overpopulation seriously hurts! Where's our fundamental right - the freedom of speech?



Now abt ppl...

Praveen: Well, if youve been to Shoutbox, u almost know him completely. The only difference is he looks very mature and respectable (Ahem!) Most of the time he was jocose.. and vintage shouter No#1

Sandeep: Praveen's junior in school... a nifty looking guy, and sounded naughty at times Spoke mostly abt his college and fun-side of life.

Siva r.k.a: Most of the time very silent.. but at times pitched in with some jokes. He's gonna take CAT for the first time in Dec'04.. he must have expected sth useful outta the meeting. Sho Shorry!

Neha: The never-worry abt Fat foods kind.. She told us a lot abt PG..abt his 1800 wpm reading speed (Phew!), his simple life etc! Shud say she spoke relatively more compared to all of us. We learned abt the roots of the forum thro her. If u have a secret hate towards IIMs, speak to her. Most of the time spoke abt the adv of NIFT over IIMs... and abt she being fundu in Maths. Dont be surprised if you find her getting a bravery award next yr.. she's saved a girl from being raped !! (True!!)

Sim: The biggest worry for her were the presence of 4 techies. We welcomed her to Bangalore. Questioned abt our jobs, expr, IT etc... must have thot IT ppl are a never-hafta-worry kinds and class aparts. If only it were true!

Oh, yeah Neha's gotta coupla shots as well... wonder when she'll upload them!

Well..well.. I was waiting for someone to start this thread! Before anyone snatches the words from my mouth here goes me!

I and Govar had planned to meet before the 'official reporting time' (12.30 PM)! He told me he had a french beard! (Better clue than last time's BLUE SHIRT clue he gave me(on C-DAY)...I had litterally went around asking all blue shirts if they were Govar! All but him! )

Anyway I turned out @ 12.05 itself!! Since Givar said 10 guys or so would be coming around .......went looking for a group of 10 .didnt find any..so stood near the entrance starring at each french beard guy I saw entering!

Then my friend Sandeep came in..after SimCat,AimCat postmorterm we both were on the lookout for that french beard guy and group of 10 guys!! All this time Siva.arka was actually few meters away from me...Didn't realise that time!

Then enters a bearded guy who flips out his phone and starts dialling...I gets a call ...so that's govar.....zeroed in on him! Later hearing our loud forum conversations, Siva makes a move and introduces himself!..So that makes 4. Where are the 10???

After 20 mins, Neha turned up! We decided to wait.........stood there for half an hour but no signs of the rest! So we all went to French Bread Pizza! Rest is as told by Govar-ji!

Well though we had small group of 6..it was still fun! But more guys would have meant more fun!

Neha surprised us with coupla PG trivia! 1800 WPM Oh my god!! PG..are you really human???

It was interesting to see Neha with two Mobiles! I think she makes call in one and receives calls/sms in other!! All the while she was SMSing PG about the meet's progress!

Great Moment #1: We all were sitting in first floor and there comes 'Sim'......we didnt bother to wave our hand etc (Neha's idea )....next to us there was a 'trendy' group with black lipsticks et all! She doesn't know which group to approach.....tries the luck with us and she guessed it right!!

GM#2: I managed to convince Govar, Sim and Siva to have that DEATH BY CHOCLATE!! Never expected all 3 will for that.....only Siva managed too finish that half kilo ice cream & choclate! Govar swore he wouldn't near choclates for next few weeks!

BTW wanted too add Sim's reaction when she head where we worked..Oh this company! Ah that company!! Never had I seen an IT guy getting so much *respect* from others!

But hey.. have to say.. 6 people 2 ladies.. so a decent ratio of 4: 2 .. NOT BAD ... Here in Mumbai it was a ghastly ... 1:12, which later went down to 1:9 or so .. Adiieu wanted to leave in a few mins.. that'd have made our meet... 0:9 ! LOL
