I am interested in making short films(with a message..) or even documentaries. Have no experience in this but hope to make it big some day!!
so aakhon mein sapna liye I am starting this thread so that I can meet like minded people to make this journey more interesting and fruitful!

wow, I envy you for having started this thread. Film making is my long cherished dream. I have some experience in it too. We made a short film once. Shot in Hi8 format (Sony Handycam), feature film, multi-cast with dialogues and music score. I edited it myself. It was really a wonderful experience...

I guess there are going to be very few people visting this thread I suppose.. anyways, I would like you to share your experiences about how you went about doing this short film that you shot..let me know what the story was about how you conceptualized and made it a reality..I have a story which I have written and would like to make a movie out of best part is the topic I have chosen will never lose its popularity in whenever its made even if its 10-20 yrs.
I wanted to join SIMC and had great expectations of having a solid foundation and a back-up career in advertising as well so that I could make movies in the future as and when I get a good story obviously self written..but as the fate would have it got 56.25 good score in verbal but yet dint get thru....planning to apply for XIC mumbai for a yr's course to get in as an assistant director and start the journey..in fact I know a guy who can get me to work as an asst. dir even now with 0 exp but I want to study about film making and then venture into it..what say?does my logic sound correct?
I am looking forward to hearing soon from you as well as others!!!!

doing gud cinema is the thing that iv wanted all this while..and i kinda realised it with my share of soul storming..so while iv applied to mica thru xat(cat dreams were spoilt..83.23%ile),and even took nid-film n video communication..a rocking paper that one..but the obvious flaws..had no idea bout the track a n track b..n slides that ones supposed to draw..so fell short thr..bt the nid ppl were very encouraging..they parted with.."see u at nid.. "
that felt good..
anyways..as of now got sibm marcom and simc ad..lets see how it goes..
i think its kind of diff deciding on a specialisation..these things..splecialisations as in are so specific..and to an outsider they are darn overlapping!!atleast to me..n i guess being thr,..seeing the way it functions will i ever decide on the spl i wanna pik..
bt one things for sure...ill do sm gud cinema one day..and soon..

ya rightly put..no matter where we study we have a common obj to be successful movie makers of the future..all dapends on how badly you need it!
so aft this introduction..in your next thread and the subsequent ones, lets start posting as to wat have each one of us have done to realize or materialize our aspiration..

hey guyz, its quite obvious indians only like watching movies n nt making them (thats d raeson very few guyz in this particular section of yours...)
well i want 2 make it big in that big bad world known as bollywood. i hav gt ideas n all that gibberish, but no xperience.
on top of it i recently got an offer letter from a very reputed mnc in software field, (oops i forgot 2 tel, i am a comp engg, in my final year from a not so gud clg,of course!!!)
now my family wants me 2 join tihs company n make a secure life out of it,
i had mica as an escape route so that i cud go there 4 a pg course n still make it in moviz n ad world.
but jst like a typical manmohan desai flick cat broke all my dreams,
dreams shatteres,
but guyz i will surely reach mica 1 day, nt as a student but as a guest faculty , god willing.
n yup ran de... was 2...... cool n inspiring

I like the spirit mate..me too dint make it to SIMC even though somene else with the same marks as mine did get thru..sad but I have decided even if I dont make it to any institute for a full time course I will still do a short term course which can get me the skills as well as help me get the contacts.
psst..already have one!!

HI 2 all directors,guys, i dont know wat happened,i have written a long post, but it didnt went,i am writting it aggain.I am also in the same boat of yours.I am desperatly in search of any rasta which took me2 bollywood.1stly thanx vinu 4 starting this thread.I am intrested in making ad & then when i get exp i wiil try movies.Like all i also thot of filling SIMC, but my was not went gud.MICA is costly 4 me,me from a middle class family.Can any 1 tell how is EMPI[ADCOM] & IIMC[NEW DELHI}.WELL vINU I think if somebody is taking u as asst director,than u must go 4 that,practical exp is better than studies in this field.wat u learn in 2 years here, u will learn in 6 months there.THis wat i feel,do wat u think is right, I hope our discussion will take us 2 some point.HOPE 4 BEST.
