Some extreme step needed to be taken to shake up evrything..they found one...their main aim was awakening of those who are going to be part of the system [remember all the focus on students and their reactions..]..So whoever enters it tries to remain clean..eventually we are going to get a clean system with eradication of the dirt...this eradication normally would be passing with time..but the dirt that was referred in the movie needed to be cleared right away for the cause of awakening..
Plus the movie is nowhere less in its entertainment value..
Amigo how about a thought from this perspective?
cud not agree wid u more parth...rdb simply had redefined the underlying spark of patriotism that has been burning in all the youth of india..
we have to remove the dirt (@parth)..and it has to be done in a violent manner...'coz no great achievement against tyranny was achieved without violence..and that need not be physical violence ..but also violence against our own pessimism...violence in form of destroying futile and hopeless thoughts....we..youth of the nation, have become enmeshed in the pseudo world of consumerism, Mc donalds and nike..et al'....
it is time that we wake upto call of our founding fathers...

By the way group..me too an aspirer of the field of film making in general..actually an artist caught in an engineers body..right now doing Java development for a software biggie..applied for MICA this year..awaiting results with fingers crossed. Since childhood I had my ideas about making ads [especially inspired by the Pepsi- Coke war] and some movies too..out of my thought themes one was reflected in 'Leela'/'DCH'..so gave up the idea..did a lot of theatre during my engineering in Pune..written a couple of skits..interested in direction and acting as well..still in Pune trying to establish contacts with FTII students..so that I can be associated with the field somehow. Tight schedules in IT don't allow full time participation..by the way also lost upon the opprtunity of University of Souther California for 3 Year M.F.A. in Film, Video n Animation..due to financial conditions..no regrets about it though..being a technical person tried my hands on animation as well..couldn't continue because of variuos constraints..time n money amongst the most important...
Anyways let me know if someone from this group is at FTII or know someone there or people form Pune we can really meet up and form some group here...pour in your thoughts..[/quote]
