Hi guys
Me a movie buff too...and hope to write and direct a movie some day....
ideas to bahut aate hain....same as many other people on this thread ....keep track of your ideas guys.....keep writing ....keep thinking....
Real great initiative by
vinuthahs247.....way to go d00d
One thing I don't like about Indian cinema is that there are not enough great movies being made....the movies which one would really like to watch....formula films can work if you know how to make the formula work....Manmohan Desai knew how to do that....
David Dhawan seemed to know initially (but not as good as Manmohan Desai...not even close infact) ..but now he is just flogging a dead horse....
But then movies like Rang De Basanti come along and WOw...man what a movie....its got great editing...great photography...even though many scenes have been touched up with effects...(the ones where they drive through a dark wooded area with just the car's headlights on..after the Paathshaala song)....but they have been done superbly....not in the gross Jaani Dushman kind of way...come to think of it...why did the director even think of making Jaani Dushman...wasn't he ashamed of himself...
whoa I am going off track here...yeah back to topic...Rang De Basanti...
Great movie ...great stuff...great university (Is that the Delhi University campus in the move?????? can anyone confirm??) ...and man what great characters....each one of them....Siddharth...whoa he's great....in each and every scene ...he is holding a cigarette in his hand....and just with the first line of dialogue ("Nautanki saala") ...his whole character is put into perspective.....Soha Ali Khan looks surprisingly gorgeous...i had previously seen Dil Maange More (I don't know why

) ...but she looked ...ordinary... in that..but here she looks beautiful....her wardrobe has been done up superbly....her make up and hair...all suit her character...
Aamir khan.....superb as always...and for the first time the star is not the focus of the movie....I mean he gets more scenes than others...but each character gets a fair and almost equal share of screen time.....also he doesn't have too much dialogue in the movie....But when he speaks about "university vich DJ di koi aukaat hai...." that is one hell of a scene....Kunal Kapoor rocks too.....Sharman Joshi ...he is really good, man....though he didn't get a lot to do in the movie....Atul Kulkarni as the misguided student leader is superb...Alice Patten the Brit babe too rocks....the supporting cast does a great job....what with stalwarts like Waheeda Rehman, Kirron and Anupam Kher and Mohan Agashe....
Oh and how could I forget Madhavan....he is in for a cameo just a few scenes but he shines through as an airforce pilot....
whew....out of breath...
so next post next time....gotta....get....waterrrrrr......paani ...paani...
he he...pj...sorry couldn't resist....

hey ats....Sanjay Gupta is inspired by John Woo and Quentin Tarantino....so you are really from the Tarantino and Woo school of film making ....think international d00d.....;-)
