Going by the increasing popularity of PG community it becomes imperative that we as a community find out ways in order to raise funds for the successfull and efficient working of PG forum. Broadly, we have two paths to choose from. One is of Self Reliance and the other one is Sponsor driven.
I suggest we all can come up with various options and discuss them here. Mods and Administrators can also put in their options and the challenges they face for maintaining this forum.
I suggest that we fix a final date by which we all will come to an agreement for raising funds for PG. The date can be fixed by Mods (but must be fixed).
For meeting the expenses for the continuation of this great forum, i propose this plan....going by PG intw on CNBC he is spending 4 lpa for this...now i consider that some other ppl are putting up some money into it , i assume that the net expenses are somewhere in the range of 5-10 lpa....so i take 10 lpa(correct me if i am wrong...).....
As of now there are 22202 members on this forum.....and i m very sure each and every one of us is capable enough of taking out Rs. 100 per annum from our pockets...this makes a total of
Rs. 22,20,200........thats means more then 22 lpa.......now mentioned below is a system which will be very effective and planned...
What can be done is that a member shud be charged Rs 100 for 365 days.....the membership shud end on 31st March at the end of every financial year...and all members needs to renew their membership that time only...the benefit of this will be that amount of work require will reduce with a single date of membership renewal for all the members......
all the ppl who join the forum midway in an year can be charged by the following formula:
Amount: (100 / 365) * No. of days left in the year
This will make things slightly complicated, so i propose that all the first timers have to pay Rs. 100 irrespective of when they join in a financial year.
There are going to be some good advantages of making PagalGuy.com a paid site. Few of them are:
1. We will be having funds of our own that can be utilized to proivde better and more innovative service.
2. It will serve the purpose and objective of this forum more effectively. By paying for their membership all the members will have a sign of respect for the objectives of this site. This will help in restraining such threads and posts which go against our vision.
3. Since every new username will be charged, it will remove all those crap ppl frm this site who thinks that they can write anything, get their username locked and come back with another username.
Personally I am against any kind of advertisements or sponsors for pagalguy.com. We as young community have a chance to show that we can carry forward things for us on our own, and these corporate houses are the one who need ppl like us, not we who need them.
This is my personal opinion. Any other suggestions and opinions with the same objective of making PaGaLGuY.com a self fuelled mission are invited.
