Until the day SB disappeared, the What's going on section showed the list of users in this manner: First the name of the user him/her/itself, and then the rest of the users online in alphabetical order. Now, its all mixedup... there is no order in the usernames of those online. I'll have to go thru the whole list to find out if, say, estranged_gnrs is online or not. Previously, all I had to do was look for estranged_gnrs after Dr.Cat and before floyd&vodka.
What's Going On?

Grondmaster

Hmmm...
There has been a change in one of the hyperlinks in my signature.
However, I get the error that says your siggy cannot be more than 700 characters. According to a CCP of my signature done in MSWord, I have 279 characters with spaces in my new signature. And I've not even added any matter. Removed some, removed some formattind, and changed a hyperlink.
Yet...
Please check the following thumbnail for the error.

Do what now?

If you noticed, you wont be shown online users' current activity now, like earlier it used to show "xyz is viewing thread abc"
The reason I gave is just my guess. The exact reason can only be given by the guys working at PG HQ. "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

Spot on!
Our database servers are being hammered esp with SB and some of the other features. So we just scaled em back for a while. However we are adding more servers to the cluster over the next couple of days and expect the situation to ease out before CAT - so that all of you can post away without any slowdowns Quote:

hello....
a few suggestions which could help maintain sanity on pg post-cat. i wasnt here last year, but i have a feeling that pg will be inundated with posts about cat.... kind of obvious, actually.
i think the mods should create 4-5 cat specific threads in the cat forum, for example :
1 ) Cat 2006 - General Discussions
2 ) Cat 2006 - Attempts, Scores, etc
3 ) Cat 2006 - Quant Section Discussion
4 ) Cat 2006 - DI Section Discussion
5 ) Cat 2006 - English Section Discussion
users could be prevented from opening new threads in the cat forum on a temporary basis ( say a week ). if anybody wants to open a thread, they could ask permission from the mods, which could be given / not given depending on its merits.
i think this would go a long way in preventing chaos.
just a few suggestions from my side.........
cheers,
