Um... enter some shouts... in shoutbox, check the link for your userID...
For eg., for mahip, it says...
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/members/mahip-34338.html
Which may most probably mean he's member no. 34338...
That's one shortcut I've found...

Abe ye toh baccha hai
Btw one more queschan from me:- Actually a suggestion:-
The current number of users stand around 82,025 which is quite a applaudable figure i must say... but anytime if you see the list of active users, the number of guests exceeds the number of members any time (in fact it's generally twice to five times the number) (currently its around double the number)
The reasons are twofold:-
> A good number of *members* never login, ( not the main reason, one can have his login/pwd remembered, but a good amount of my friends do this, most of them haven't posted even once. When i reason with them, i get a common response, why the heck?)
> A large number of users never register at all( after all why should they? They are quite happy breezing through the various threads)
Can't we make registration compulsory to even just view the threads? I don't think this would cause any problems :-? ( it would be better right?)
This entire site mainly works on the simple funda of mutual communication & help:- I post a question, you answer my question, the rest understands/learns/corrects the methodology/solution/query.
( if you register, you'll tend to post, especially in situations like, if you solve a un-answered question, and suddenly that 'quote' button becomes all the more visible to you)
The more people communicate, the more better, right?

Hi Ninja ,
I dont think It would really work , if someone doesnt log in as he doesnt want to post or contribute .. and hence just browses his site .. will it make any difference if he is made to login .. and the browse .. I dont think so ... maybe zeeshan and pg also think like me ..

:argue:
Ok you want people to register
you want people to be proactive
you want people to get involved in discussions
& let me tell you, if any person with some enthusiasm register himself and post in, we have lots of addicted and harcore pagals:angry: (they like to be called demi-mods ) to interrupt their humble query and rant at them:x.
this is really annoying. well i never experieced the situation during my noob days but i know its really annoying. Well the Captain, I mean pg i remember requested all members to unofficially do mod work. yeah its nice of them taking there time and directing noobies.....but honestly a newbie will stay in (with pg.com) if he treated well.
Ok above one para was my suggestion to those hardcore & addicted pagals...
anyways.
Oh i think i hv said this before.... oops
yea rightly said Aspire, its a free world & we cannot make it compulsary.
see
all newspaper articles....most of magazines are available freely on internet.
Ok similar sites..scoretop test magic. gmat club beatthegmat all have free access...
i dont have to say more.

ok main bhi aa gaya gyaan baatne
I guess we are all aware of the fact that google has been a major contributor to the growth of this site directing most CAT related queries to pagalguy.com In the early days of this site, it was for members only.. ie members had to register to view the forum. And then it was decided to make it googlable to accelarate the growth rate.
So I dont think anybody would be interested in going back the old way

Thnx boss, that was something i didn't know, and sounds solid... I guess you ppl would have weighted the odds and made the decision...
aspire dood, you didn't get the point i was focussing on... my onus was the adv to the site, not regarding end user... But nikhil's point cleared that...

Umm Rajat, That is not a general issue. One can copy the text/post before posting it. I guess this is a problem with your browser... Are you using Netscape or Mozilla? Coz i have had that problem in mozilla, but never a issue in IE.
Try changing your browser, if still problem exists, then I hope some one more technically sound replies to your request
