hi Allwin,
I have had previous exp of posting job openings in mailgroups and you start getting all sorts of resumes - most of them irrelevant. Jobgrops that survive are the ones where the mods insist that members mail their resumes only when they are eligible.
Hence, I wanted to raise this point, bcoz an initiative to post job openings won't be useful without your(and other mods') active support.
You will have to keep reminding ppl to respond to a job opening only when they are eligible - and that means more work for you and your mods! (plz don't kill me for suggesting this)
Now, coming to the point.......
I think that if we agree to post job openings on this site then we can work on the following suggestion:
We create a forum (or a sub forum) titled "Job Openings" and have threads there for different job profiles , eg, IT freshers, IT experienced, Manufacturing, Managerial, etc
Then we allocate each thread to a mod and only that mod can post on the concerned thread. This will ensure that we don't have an unnecessary deluge of posts.
If a member wants to post a job opening, he/she sends a PM to the concerned mod (the format of the subject for the PM and the mod's name shd be mentioned in the relevant thread). The PM shd be sent only to the concerned mod AND NO ONE ELSE. Also, the subject of the post should be in the prescribed format. This will reduce the burden of the mod and he/she can straightaway delete any non-conforming PM.
Another imp point here can be that a mod always edits his previous post on a job thread instead of making a new post. This will ensure that he/she keeps overwriting (deleting) obsolete info e.g info abt a walkin after the walkin date is past.
If the PM is relevant, the mod posts the info on the relevant thread BUT REMOVES THE MAIL ID OF THE PERSON who gave this info. Instead his userid on PG is mentioned. All interested should be requested to send a PM to the concerned person assuring him that they are eligible and requesting his mail id.
The concerned person responds via PM or mail and then the resumes are sent across!!!
I know this sounds like a long and bureaucratic process

, but this will ensure that there are no irrelevant spams on the forum and the person who posts job openings is also kept safe from spams.
