I remember 4 years ago in a seminar in my college in Patiala a coaching insti guy during "awareness badao - CAT mein uljhao sessions" he had said the word "pagalguy" !
I thought he had gone nuts.The very idea of a forum being of my help to prepare for an exam seemed a little well - pagal !And what kind of name that was ?
Typically college style i chucked one of the most useful things i had ever heard and went on doing whatever it is we do in engineering colleges (five point someone
)
One year down the line when CAT had slowly and surely pawed it's way towards me and was ready to pounce on me and no one else in my group was really that interested in this "cat thingy" the pagalguy resurfaced for me !
Wanted to post,Tried registering for it using my yahoo id but couldn't.So for six months it was gyaan session time only.Went through all the posts in " All i wanted to speak about CAT", understood the whole concept of "sharing thy learning",read the interviews experiences , discovered a whole lot about TISS - one of the places i am so interested in,got the list of some must reads in lounge and tried my hands at a couple of games too
Then learnt about the real "pagalguy",how it all started ,followed the crazy threads of "who is pagalguy" (loved it
and didn't miss a word of his wharton thread !And then discovered so many puys who were just there to help at the drop of a hat, and the amazing bonding that was here ! simply loved the camaraderie that puys had !
Amidst this conversion of my self from a noob to a puy , I completed my graduation joined an IT job then left it before it consumed me and joined
something which really is me - As a trainer in the MBA arena !!!
So now i have come a full circle - the last time when i visited one of the colleges to give the "awareness badao - CAT mein uljhao sessions" and i mentioned pagalguy and the guys looked at me incredulously i just loved the feeling
Thanks a million Allwin ! And i hope we soon reach this mark because i have seen the difference that one post , one tip , one bit could make to one's life !And today more than any other time when there is a mushrooming of colleges all around in INDIA and every other place offering an MBA at the drop of a hat and then charging sky rocketing fees every bit of trust able
info counts !I think undoubtedly pagalguy is our beacon here showing the way to 1,50,000!may it be in millions
ps-so this is what happens when i get my "post it " rights ! sorry for going a little overboard but i needed this cathartic relief !
