cool new feature of multi quote in the forum - 23-03-2007, 07:31 PM

Hey Guys,
We have added a new feature of multi quote in the forum.

Here is how it works
Suppose you are reading a thread and want to quote multiple posts in the thread at once.

what you need to do is while reading you click on the multi quote button(shown with an arrow in the image multiquote-off.gif) for all the posts which you want to quote in your reply.

You can do so for multiple pages too. i.e. say you want to quote one message in the first page, 2 posts in the second page then again 1 post in the 4 th page and so on after selecting all the posts that you want to quote click on the Post Reply button(which appears at the top as well as at the bottom of the page)

you can deselect a post by clicking on it yet again.

in the selected posts the multi quote buttons appear as a red one. as in image multiquote-on.gif as in he below image

now when you click on the Post reply button and you can see all the selected messages as quoted in the reply textbox.

Please post your feedback regarding this in this thread..

Thanks

I totally agree.. I remember when I had to copy paste the tags and text of all the posts that I wanted to quote in my reply.. this feature makes that much simpler..

Cheers..

Abhinav

P.S. I hope you all noticed the use of multi-quote feature in my post

testing it out myself as well

Regards,

EDIT:

One thing that I noticed. After using the multiquote feature, and making my post, the qouted posts still remain flagged. i.e., the multi quote button still remains red. I don't think this should be happening; as the purpose of the button is served. If required, it can be clicked again for another post. But once the quotes are utilized in a post, the flag can be removed. Is there a way it can be done? - Gronde

Hello Everybody,

I am Rajat, the Resident Geek and CTO of Inzane Labs . From what I've seen of the posts in this section, I'd like to break-up all grievances into the following categories:
  1. Aesthetics - I know the forum is quite simplistic in its look and design. But don't worry people, soon we'll be going completely Web 2.0 with all its associated jing-bang and bells and whistles! It will take some time and will come about in a phased fashion. But keep you eyes 'peeled' for it.
  2. Technical - The technical issues being faced by everybody are quite small and harmless, but they go a long way towards making the web experience tiring. The website redesign also involves a lot of work on the backend technology and we'll be upgrading ourselves to make it pleasing and seamless.
  3. Features - I've also seen quite a few feature requests. Pretty soon we'll start a formalized discussion about features that are important to you guys and give it our best shot. We'll be adopting Agile Methodologies so I cannot promise that you'll get 'em all in one go. But baby steps? anyone?
We have a lot of exciting and crazy ideas jumping around in our head that we so hope to unleash on all you unsuspecting lot! We aim for nothing less than world dominion

Will keep you all updated on further developments. In the meanwhile, keep posting all the excellent ideas and suggestions to this forum.

Cheerios!
