Below every post we now have a button that allows you to say thanks to a specific poster. There are two advantages to this, firstly you can thank someone as soon as you've read a post and you can make them feel appreciated because it takes a lot of effort and time for people to make their posts on the site and they do deserve to be acknowledged.
So whenever you see a great post, hit the thanks button and say thanks. You will lighten up someone's day and encourage people to share more!
Feedback and comments invited 
We have also now added the 'groan' feature, so that you can let a user know that you didnt appreciate a post

PS: Looking to also include a 'groan' feature, so that you can let a user know that you didnt appreciate a post | Great initiative pg .. will help to reduce spam  also ... ya the groan feature is badly needed ...

i guess lots of server space on pg will be saved by this .. but i felt groan feature is unnecessary .....some spammers may go on a groaning spree around here

We can always remove the features if it works against our concept of community building. Hopefully people wont abuse it and we'd be able to give people signals of how their posts have been received on the whole.
So lets try to keep it objective and lets see how it goes. Its not as much about saving server space, its about making sure that people are given an indication of how others see their post Quote:

I believe tanveer will get a lot of these thanks...
However, it'd be better if the thanks & groan post buttons were renamed... to something like thank <userid> for this post and groan at <userid> for this post
Will help the n00bs... who are usually the ones to write the useless Thanks posts most of the time...
