We have also now added the 'groan' feature, so that you can let a user know that you didnt appreciate a post

Nice initiative I also feel that the left panel looks not-so-beautiful, maybe we can have simpler terms like Thank rate (X thanks / Y posts) with description display on mouse hover, member reputation (calculated using a complex mathematical equation ) etc.

I think at the end its more an ethical question for the puys rather than a control question for the creators...

Darn! Couldnt you have tested it by clicking at the Thanks button !

BTW ... even I feel that this makes the left pane a bit cluttered. I think a better option will be giving a pictorial representation of the same. Maybe a few powerup buttons or something like that which indicates the Thanks Vs Groans count.
