I dont think this idea will serve any purpose unless it is something on the lines of giving something back to the PG community. We could have the alumni speak to CAT aspirants and answer their queries. I know that it usually does happen in PG meets but we could make it an official event where we could request the alumni to speak to the aspirants and answer queries. This could be an excellent value add to PG.
I dont see how a separate site would help in any way Anupam. |
Yes, even I agree admission into B-schools should
not be the
only criteria in deciding the alumni members.A member may be considered as an alumni if :
1) A member whoz well known in the forum, by well known I mean most of the regulars should be knowing him/her.(Example : Psychodementia, Murtuza..)
2) Members who have registered before Dec,2004 and have significantly contributed to the forum. (Example : FC Cattie)
3) Golden members who'd registered way back when PG.com was put up. (Eg: Zarine)
4) People who were once very active members but have lost touch with PG now. (Eg: psmith,Godfather, philiptg)
5) Moderators ( new and old ) : Example : Mave,TheAkshat.
6) B-school junta who feel they should remain connected to PG.
And coming to contributions : We can come up with a newsletter wherein alumni can post their articles/gyan sessions/quizes. We may also come up with alumni meets !
I agree coming with a new site may not be feasible as it would again require personally visiting the site. My take's the newsletter.. what say ?
