Should a mod ever be retired?

What are your thoughts on this?

I think that they should be given a different status...

They would have the same rights as Moderators..
And also on paper you would have only the active Moderators as 'Moderators'...

Add one more BABU moderators.. who will do d job on timepass basis in absence f some moderator. And will mostly be used as Standby mods. Though this wont fit into defintion f actual Mods.

giving moderatorship to pagals will be like giving OSCAR to PAGALS.

There could be more GODs like Mr. Pagalguy . by increasing no f GODs it will be like honouring some dedicated Moderator SOULS .. my nominees Ma'am SIMBA and Mr. Maverick.
GOD will be like OSCAR for MODERATORS

I really dont think that it is that big a deal to retire a mod....u obviously are not gonna retire him before letting him know right???? And if a mod has earned the respect of ppl on the forum, he will still be respected...mod or no-mod.
I feel that every mod should serve for a period and then his modship should be reviewed...I would say an annual review would be good. Just my two cents.

one suggestion, instead of compulsory retirement they should be given an option like VRS as in banks....
PG pls clear abt pension scheme after retirement.

This point arises because of either no or little activity by them ... so assigning them with other tags is pointless in my opinion. Maybe a page just for the people who are/have been mods and , Pagalguy hall of fame page to honour their effort in keeping this place sane ... i mean insane
u sound like Greg Chappell... is he on the forum???? Neways coming back to the point... if having too many mods ,even if they are not active, is not going to have any problems then why bother??? too many mods do not spoil the borth... If u feel there has to be something done, then i suppose the Advisors thing is not such a bad idea apart from inducting them into a hall of fame... but i seriously think that more than the hall of fame, they must be elevated.....

Retirement or even moving to the Hall of Fame shouldn't be forced on the mods. They should be asked first whether they want to be only mods or mods + hall of fame. A good title would be mentors. Adding them to the Hall of Fame directly is like giving a lifetime achievement award to them. Meaning, they're past their due. And I'm sure, no mod would admit that! And what if some long-inactive mod feels an itch to go back to the good ol' days... of locking a thread, of banning a member? Why should he/she be denied that?

The retirement idea is a bad choice. What if tomorrow someone suggests retirement for admin(s) too??!

Just Saw ' matrix revolutions' again so 1 thing keep coming in mind : -

' THE THING WHICH STARTED HAVE TO FINISH ONE DAY '

so thier is nothing bad if some MOD got retirement or elevated to new post.
