SHOULD PG BE MADE FOR members ONLY!!!

Hello all puys,

Keeping in mind the recent events at PG.com.... like the professors asking students about PG.com and the topic of a GD at GIM being pagalguy.com I feel it would not be a bad time to discusss about the future of the privacy of the forum


I know that an online forum being invisible to nonmembers beats the entire purpose but atleast that would ensure some privacy to the members who are posting their interview experiences and other thoughts....


I personally would suggest that the sectins which deal with GD PI experiences and other interviews ca be made private as that is something which only few students are interested in ... However the Prep Resourrces, Exam related threadss must remain in the public domain as that would further grow the legacy that PG.com today is...



These are just a few thoughts and i thought i should get others opinion on it.... do jump in and give your views so that we can know how to protect our privacy and also increase the goodwill of pagalguy.com

We can only ensure that my becoming like a govt. office:

Documents required for registration at PG:

1) Proof of Age (X Certificate)
2) Proof of Residence (Ration Card/Voter ID/Driving License)
3) PAN Number

or wait till the govt. implements its ambitious Social security no. project.

Moral of the Story: We can't stop Prof.s

I really dont understand the point that prof's sneak in at PG and later discuss the same with people in classes. I mean, they all know this is a public forum and it is aspirant's life out of the gd/pi room, so they should be free to post whatever they wish to (obviously, adhering to PG decorum). I think the sensible profs should mock away any pinpointings...

Guys its not about the professors sneaking in. If they register its ok cause that way they will atleast have an ID and that may tempt them to post also.....

Still me thinks me that the professors respect PG for its size and clout the only negative might be the flase news that spreads around.. However that has drastcially reduced now thanks to active Moddin and regular membesrs who keenly protect the sanctity and the insanity of this MEcca of MBA Aspirants....

Now this is a tough one esp since you talking about proofs. Can you provide links to all those 6000+ posts here ?

Ok, Now coming back to the Issue we have in hand.

1: What is wrong in Profs going through the forum ? Atleast ppl wont address the profs as "Kalu mota" or "Yamraj" anymore.
2: Making a mandatory members only forum, will drive out a few ppl from here. Havent seen any forum being successful, by making it members only. (Dont give Warez/p0rn examples here )
3: In the future, we might come up with a "members only" section. Entry criteria is still open for debate.
4: But yeah, I know a few ppl rip the GD/PI exp posted here, and post it on their own sites/groups. Now this can be a serious concern.

Exctly my point i was referring to stealing/ copying of content from PG members being used/circulated by others in their sites/blogs

ITs ok if i use my blog to post my experiences but it would be unfair to have that blog post othersexperiences or some opionions which i have lifted off PG...

The members only section can be thought about though its still important to decide what to add there..
