Hi there one of the most common pitfalls faced while browsing thro' the forum is the required information being hidden in an innocuous looking thread with rather inappropriate title. So to make navigation easier and make the resident
SEARCH function throw up appropriate threads we need to revamp the thread titles.
And a well titled thread goes a long way in eliciting the response from the right persons
So what are you required to do?
In your browsing in this forum if you come across any thread whose title you think could be revamped to catch more eyeballs and more succintly capture the essence of the posts and the direction of the discussion flow do make a point to post the link here (and ,if you want, a suggestion as to what you think it should be renamed to)
How would that help?
** Firstly it would help to collate the parallel threads running on the same topic or a identify threads which could be merged so as to keep the discussion in one logical cohesion.
** Secondly it would reduce the clutter which could become a major hindrance with the increase in number of threads.
** Thirdly a thread inappropriately named might contain information about something we might be interested in but we let it pass as it is impossible to go thro' every post.
** It might help in merging old threads which contain some brilliant posts but for all intents and purposes now have been lost into oblivion.
Why a separate thread for this? why not pm a mod when one comes across such a thread?
Touche! But the intent was to make this thread serve as a repository for the renamed threads along with their old names so junta logging in after a long time would be able to identify their thread.
So what constitutes an inappropriately named thread?
Anything which doesnt give an idea abt the contents of the thread and is generalized in nature but the discussion was intended to be specific to a topic.
For eg following thread names were changed today..
"Need Some Suggestions" ---> MBA Options For 20+ Years Work Experience (MBA Options For 20+ Years Work Experience)
someting I cannot recollect now --> Life@GBO-SRCC (Delhi) (Life@GBO-SRCC (Delhi))
"Who is to blame?" ---> Terrorism :Who is to blame?
Well you get the drift right?
Lets make navigating the forum in search of that elusive info that much easier....for ourselves..

Any suggestions are obviously welcome....even the one on changing the title of this very thread!
Girish...!
