bad luck for me as i m better off in GK as compared to verbal with a lot of students....

n as far as XIMB is concerned....its true that orissa domicile students have a whooping 2/3rd quota....(had got GD PI call last time,coz of this quota only

)
hopin this time too....but anyhow neeed 2 convert this time around...

dont think so! XAT is famous for its horrible GK section. bcoz its a timed sections
students are known to stare at walls or even take a nap during that sections

nyone who had taken XAT last year???

pls confirm abt this GK section..
was it mentoined explicitly as a seperate section in last year's bulletin?if so...ny idea y its missing in this years brouchre??
does tht surely mean...tht there is no GK this time

Hi there,

YES, ITS TRUE! There wont b any section on GK/Current Affairs in XAT this time around...After having gone thru the brochure n havin tried to decipher the contents n manner in which the last section was printed, its more than obvious that XAT has done away with its famed GK section...

For me, thats a setback, but......

Hi,

Yes, last year IT WAS XPLICITLY mentioned that there wld b a section on GK...N this year, theres none of that thing...

Thats what I meant when I said in my last post, ki I tried to do a lot of deciphering myself n have reached the conclusion ki, YES, there wont b any section on GK this time around...
The only thing that remains to b done is to call up the XAT office which I feel would b TOO MUCH!...

So, live with the fact ki v'v seen the last of XAT GK...Good news for some, bad for others like me!

Hmm. No GK.
Does this mean there will be a higher number of students gunning for XAT?
Coz quite a few ppl hav ditched the idea of writing XAT in the past, becoz of its dreaded GK section!!
English of XAT was on the CATish side last yr inspite of the fact that in the previous yrs...XAT english was much like GRE.

So GK gone this yr means a closer to CAT pattern.

Get ur helmets ready for the test folks!!

well well...

the only thing now that will differentiate CAT from XAT will the 20 min essay it seems.

can any XL guys confirm this??

Oh gosh... thats bad news ... no GK, it was the saving grace for me last year... and it certainly does wonders to the overall percentile....

It was mentioned in last yrs brochure... and if it isnt there now means b bye GK... why did they do it? it made the paper so unique.

I still havent registered so i cannot give u the link but I guess if u login from this
http://www.xlri.edu/xat_main_login.php u will be able to see the link for PP form at the top right corner ( if i can remember properly)
