hey buddy few..facts..
i donot wish to degarde any insty..but NMIMS istruggled to place its batch for summers.. a well known fact..
the problem with them..is this year...i mean 2006 batch has lot of GUjju reservation and the corporates know abt it...
so thay had hard time facing summer placements..
now that they starting a course on Capital Markets..seems so strange to me///
what is there in Capital markets to read for 2 years...in MBA as a specialization...u need to learn so mant things in MBA finance..and Cpital Markets is just not the end..
and the reality a very harsh one...NO BIG INVESTMENT BANK IS gonna look at poeple from Capital Markets from NMIMS>>>>
Myself being an MBA finance student know the intricacies of finance specizlation..
Dont go for this course..it is manily trageted Brokers who wish to do an MBA....or some children of brokers who only understand te stock language...
but iam sure if u have an eye for stocks and keen to learn mor eon investing..this will be a dream come true course as u get to learn a lot...
but if u r an enginerr..and that too fresh one with no money yet lost in market..it will be very tough for u to catch up witht he pace..pof the course..
but trust me..it is not greek and latin..engrs crack markets far better than many BComs
think abt it..do u want to settle under a broker doing Equity research( which pays u like Hell...Like Hell///u just cant count ur cars after 4 -5 years)..this si the right step....
but NMIMS ...may help u in learning the subject well for stronger future but not give u a immediate placmeent to talk of after 2 yrs of MBA>>>>

I came across this thead accidently and got some good info from it! I have a few questions:

1. does NMIMS give dual specialization? I'm trying hard to check that, but not getting any definite answers.
2. Is there any reservation for maharastrians/gujaratis (as pointed in this tread)? How many seats? And what's the total number of seats this year?

q2. Thr is no reservation this year(onwards?) for gujjs....i just got this confirmed from an NMIMIAn...in some other thread...

Well as the suggest it is an MBA tailored to feed the requirements of the stock market wizards. Best suited for the students aspiring to tame the bulls & bears. First of all to apply for the course you need to have completed your graduation with 50% & more and at least one yr. experience in the field of capital market. The exam is conduct in the month of July and GD, PI are held just after a couple of days. As you asked about dual specialisation lemme tell You that in this course there is no facility as such. Moreover, there is no reservations for Maharashtrians or Gujarati's except for the SC & STs.The total no. of seats for this year were 60.

Tried contactin NM to know some details of this course...but not possible..

I m confused about the 1 year work experience thing...NM guys...plz..if u can help..

Can anyone tell if anyother institute in India has same kind of course?
