Welingkar Batch Of 2005-2007 (pgp E-biz And Pgdbm)

i got a call from welingkar office that I have been selected to PGDBA welingkar bangalore
could you please help me on this as to the facilities at the bangalore campus and any idea abt this new course. Moreover the person from the admission office specifically mentioned that I missed the PGDBM list by a whisker. Please could u confirm if a 2nd list is on its way and when it may arrive.

I thought they were having only a Retail Management program at b'lore

But now that you have got the call am sure they having a new batch there.. Anyways I remember during the form filling stuff they had asked if students wud be interested in a batch for PGDBM @ b'lore

Looks like sufficient students enrolled for it

The bangalore campus is smaller than the mumbai one but matches it in terms of facilities. The college is also actively looking for a better place to move. This will remove the size difference between the campuses.

The campus is also actively linked to the mumbai campus and quite a few senior professors (read deans) make a trip to bangalore arnd once a month for 5-6 days each time. Otherwise they are available on mail and phone, so its never much of a problem.

The next list is scheduled on June 17. u may hv missed by a whisker but u will still be taking a risk by waiting for the second list as it depends on hw many ppl from the first list dont take up the course, while now u hv an almost confirmed admission. The wait is only for u to confirm tht u are interested and then they'll send u the offer letter.

My reco wud be tht u shud take it up.

thanks for the info.Actually I never choosed bangalore; not even the pg-ebiz at the bangalore campus. When the lady the from the admission office said abt bangalore I was really surprised. BTW can u make a realistic judgement abt my chances for PGDM mumbai 2nd list(if it comes). I got 90% in CAT and have 2yr work ex with IT giants and a very good PI/GD

I think I'd agree wid Adi on this. on the one hand I personally feel you do stand a chance for the 2nd list. Because I am sure there will definitely be dropouts from the 1st list. But then again...it depends on wat comprises the first list...

Now there are 120 seats for PGDBM. In case they have given call letters to lets say 200 people. That would mean they have already taken care of the dropouts to an extent. So in case they have done that ...it means you stand a lesser chance

Adi rightly said its a risk. Maybe you should visit the place once and meet the director. Tell him that you really are interested in Mumbai course although B'lore is also good enough....and ask him as to what chances you stand.

If i am not mistaken I think even you need to take a decision by 9th June which is the last day atleast for us in the 1st list.

The risk is definitely there. So if you have calls from somewhere else maybe then you can take a chance but if not then its a big risk coz even this seat might go then.

BTW i have already intimated the folks at welingkar abt my desire to join bangalore campus.
just that bombay will be immensely more preferable.


well jay, i don't know abt a deadline for bangalore but if my name figures in the second list I would be on the first flight to mumbai.

wat i meant was.. wats da deadline for u to pay fees for banglore....??

i mean it shudnt happen tht u pay fees thr and later u have to pay fees in mumbi again... dont think it wud be trasferred like tht ( u can ask em abt such a scenario)

so try n find out the deadline to pay fees for banglore and than decide!!

well the suggestion u made abt meeting the director is definately a good one. however this means I need to some good travelling(currently located in delhi). also I have a GD on 11th in Allahabad(IIITA). looks like I will be all over the country in the next few days.
