Here after SCMHRD will NOT offer MOM in its institute instead the student can opt for SIOM. SIOM starting its journey from this year , will have the Nashik Campus as its base from where the SCMHRD will wind up all their activities by the end of this year."
Moreover I heard that SCMHRD doesn't have any teiup with SAP:huh: (as it say so from its website) and doesn't even have the software in its campus . They will entitle the student to get trained from a local institute on MM or PP module.
please guys guide me whether to join this inst or not. I'm a software engr with 2 yrs of exp in SAP domain. Will this PGDOM(they call so) be an advantage for my career ?
cheers

As a former student of SCMHRD, let me correct you....SIOM is as much of a sister institute of SCMHRD, as is the Symbiosis Junior High School. We have nothing to do with SIOM apart from the fact that the Nashik Campus is being handed over to them.
As far as the operations course at SCMHRD is concerned, it is simply being renamed to Supply Chain Management. What else do you expect? They can't just dump the people who are currently studying there, or have secured admission there.
And you might wanna be more careful about what you say....How do you know that the software isn't there on campus? Did Dr. Majumdar or Subbu call you up to tell you that? Or have you visited the campus and turned on the computers to check?
Fact: We have a SAP liscence for which money was raised partly by raising the fee, and partly out of the coffers of the Symbiosis Society. I can tell you that it did not cost us 8 Cr either.
Fact: We have a SAP lab, seperate from our computer lab on campus
Fact: Every student underwent SAP training in that lab last year.
As far as the comparison between SCMHRD and SIOM is concerned (in Operations), if you have a call from both its a no brainer...no question about it, SCMHRD is an established institute with excellent placements this year. 33% jump in CTC this year itself, which is double that of the average across B Schools.
SIOM does have a good future ahead but it will take time for them to establish themselves. Being situated in the Nashik manufacturing belt is definitely an advantage they can leverage in the years to come.
Be careful about what you say.........
Cheers!
