Hmm am not very sure of the Salary figures quoted here. I had posted the sal details for the 2003-05 batch at IISC in some other thread.......pasting the same here.

Number of students in the current final year batch = 10

Thoughtworks Inc 4.8
i2 technologies 4.5
Infosys tech 5.1
GE Logistics division 4.5
Mindtree Consulting 3.2+
PriceWaterHouse Coopers 3.5+

As u can see all these jobs are mostly in the IT/Systems Sector.
Source: My Brother who is currently in his final year at IISC.

My take is that if u want to major in IT/Systems IISC is a good bet because :-
1) It is an upcoming B-school with the IISC brand to boot.
2) Location advantage coz most of the IT companies are in Blore.
3) Since the batch size is small placement is not an issue.
4) In another 2-3 yrs there will be a sureshot increase in the sals, so that by the time u graduate u can sure of getting 6-6.5 pa.

PS: Dude which is the company that offered 6.4l pa?? The placements in IISC are very decent by any standards but to the best of my knowledge no company offered 6.4l pa this time around.

Laterals? - 29-04-2005, 05:22 PM

Hi All.One of my friends was keen to know about IIsc.He is working now.he wants to know whether there are lateral placements there?Co it's difficult in a small batch size.If laterals are held earlier then what about the remaining students with no work-ex?Do companies come down for so less people? This is just a small query.
