Wow - a nice bunch of batchmates I must say - ...TCS, Infy, HPS, DCE....great! What about the others - no "intro" ??
More to follow am sure
Aish and Puneet - what exactly is the place you both are putting up ..28 and 30 kms from FMS?
Shiv, I was your neighbour till last year - was with Cognizant for 2 years, then shifted to CSC last year....
By the way, my cousin is in HR there at infy pune.. he he ......
As for the hostel, I am not too sure about it, but I can share my bit of rumour I got to hear - I believe you got to be a non-Delhi resident to be directly eligible for a hostel accomodation, that is, if you do not have your folks or someone staying in Delhi, ... you get the hostel acco.
I was happy about it, since I have my home in NOIDA so automatically, I am a NRD .......
so would be Atul in case he picks up FMS finally..l
guess the same would go for people staying in Gurgaon or Ghaziabad or Faridabad ....
This was the information I got from a guy in FMS ...

By the way Siddartha/prasen, what is the Waiting List number you have got? Because if it is less than 30, I think you are more or less thru only

Hosteling At Fms !!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 24-03-2005, 04:25 PM

Hello! Puru ! a.k.a PGites!!!!!

I am on S.No. 4 , on FMS Wait List .............!

Hope it gets cleared( Crystal Cleared) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way , BOL to all aspirants vying for IIM's .............! Hope you all get thru !

Important information about FMS Hostel Accomodation:

"At FMS hostel setas are accomodated according to your residential status in Delhi and not based on your Merit List . The criteria followed is as follows

Highest Priority : NSD ( Non Resident Delhi ) Female Candidates

2nd Priority : NSD Male Candidates

3rd Proirity : Female CBD ( Close By Delhi ) Candidates

4th Priority : Male CBD Candidates

5th Priority : Female DR ( Delhi Residents ) Candidates

6th Priority : Male DR Candidates

The same is First Cum First on Each priority level . Please note that the seats fill till the same reaches the 3rd or at max 4th priority . At times the 3rd Priority prempts the 2nd one , which at some time creates problem ( a case was there ) , but other times the same pattern is followed . So DR candidates are usually dayskiessss.
And Hence FMS is known to be as " NOT FULLY RESIDENTIAL" , unlike other B-Schools ....!
FMS has 50 seats reserved in one of the best Delhi University Hostels . There areseperateHostels For Female and Male candidates and so no "LIVIN IN" , no "IN HOSTEL " Discussions . Thats a bit of disadvantage .......!"

Hope you all must have got a "Birds Eye View " of Hosteling at FMS .........!

Hi Puneet!

Sorry for replying late. Yeah most probably i will be taking hostel too. I stay app 30 kms from FMS & i think it would not be a good idea to up-down during late hours when classes go on upto 9pm... One of my friends at FMS suggested to consider carpool option as well... But i think going to FMS & coming back home i.e. [1hr + 1hr] would be a wastage of time & energy esp when we will have so much work at hand... so i will stick to the hostel option.

PS: Forms for hostel accomodation will be out in June/July.

Take care
Cheers
Kanu

EDITED: Oops! Didnt read the post above... Huh! Puneet you have least chance of getting hostel & me second least...

If you don't have it here (pointing to the heart), it doesn't matter what you've got here (pointing at the head).

Well, Shiv, like the call letters, probably you would get the final letters with a 2-day delay. My Address is of Delhi, and today, the second letter from FMS also reached my place. I guess in that case, your letter also should reach you by Monday ...
Dont worry dude.. they won't miss you out ..for sure
