i'm Dhiraj Banthia from kolkata

i'm engg (E&E) and working with STESALIT LTD since 2002

i have lots of friend (My engg batch mates) in ICFAI

These r some of the feed backs

this time 8 ppl got foreign placements. placements of 200+ students is comparable to thoses of spjain/mdi/imt

jp morgan chase and eicher motors were sent back as most of the ppl were placed.

as far as kjs/imi/for/lbsim/gim r concern i feel thay r below hyd.

dont go my avg mean mediam mode etc...... tallk to ur friend if u have and then u will get the actual picture which i have very clear. :whatthat:

so most prob i;m joinig. decision might change if i get TAPMI\

now my quers

is there hostel complete.... i forgot to ask them??

what is cost of hostel.

Getting all sorts of reviews/ inputs/ feedback on IBS,
some +ve and some -ve.............

One sincere request : Please don't confuse ppl anymore!

First, to those who r planning to drop IBS......please
go ahead and good luck for CAT '05

And for those who can't stop crying "my daddy strongest"
Let us accept it - by rankings IBS may be in Top-10 but
in case of placements it is behind IIMs( ABCLIK ), IITs ( B D KGP ),
XL, FMS, IIFT, NITIE, MDI, XIMB, SIBM, SCMHRD, IMT, NMIMS
AND I can list a few more!

Let us take what we have and make the best out of it

I am Priyank Anand.Thanx for your most relieving post,i aws too confused as lot of people told me rubbish things concerning its high cost and relatively low placements but now i am relieved.
Now about hostel i have heard from one of my friend that hostel will be completed till october 2005 till then we will have to accomodate ourselves somehoe moreover one soothening facto is that the annual cost of hostel will be ONLY 18K .

dhiraj im from calcutta...not sure how many others from cal made it to icfai hyd..

about the hostel..they say its going to be up and running by october 2005...and the cost is around 18k per annum..for mess fees they have different plans depending on ur meal plan..but it all depends if its ready by october..

varun, geetika, tejaswini lps let us know where you all are at the moment...and if you all have already joined the IBShyd05 yahoo group..we can decide on a suitable time and chat to resolve most of our queries..maybe sunday would be a good day..what say guys?

well we keep hearing a lot of crap about icfai but the more i research the more i am convinced that most of that crap is crap after all...their curriculum and books are considered one of the best even by the industry..leave alone other b schools.. in fact i have a lady staying in my building who was a member of the research dept at icfai hyd..she says they keep updating the syllabus each year and they keep on including new case studies..

about people still thinking of the lack of AICTE approval..i guess they dont want it coz each time you want to revise the syllabus these AICTE guys have to approve it..and thats time taking..

about the placements bit..guys its up to us how we perform in those two years..the bottomline is you cant keep a good man down for long...so if we deserve it we will get good placements..so work hard in those two years. my friends working in hyd feel that each year new companies come to the icfai campus and things are definitely headed in the right direction....

so lets go for it guys...

Ok...I am alright with the idea of meeting online to discuss our next steps... and as rightly said below...I thnk its high time we stop quabbling about which school is best, rankings bla bla bla... At the end of the day..its only our performance that will be taken into a/c at the end of two years.... Its upto us whether we get a job for 10L or a job of 1L.... and if people start valuing the piece of paper that we get after two years rather than the knowledge that we acquire....THE COSMIC POWERS SAVE THEM :infinity:

Is Friday eve/night alright for IBS Hyd group to meet online ??? Friday eve b/w 6:30 and 7:30 ?? Lemme know your opinions... I will send out a poll request on the group....

hi folks

im frm hyd il tell y icfai hyd or as a matter of fact any icfai isnt good...though the magazines rank them as 11 or 12....y they r ranked so good ...cos u see the sheer nos add up 4 their score but if u see their ratins on parameters like placements n industry interface n foriegn placements....the imp factors tat a student considers icfai ranks pretty bad in them...they r good cos there is a concept called economies of scale...guys if u have other colleges pl consider them above icfai...i know personally know a loy of ppl in icfai totally disillusioned bout so pl b careful in ur choices
