but if the place you are doing your MBA from cant provide you the faculty for your specialization , resources and most importantly the recognition.

pay packages are nothing but the tangible indicator of the acceptance of a candidate"s ability and potential by the industry.... its not like that the industry considers that the candidate is good but still pays less...the truth is these tier of institutes are not good for all the specializations that they offer... you have to chose the best option.

nobody has first preference of doing MBA from Icfai...but one has to chose the college that one gets which is basically a compromise otherwise every body wants IIM A or LBS or Harvard ......only few colleges can provide good Systems MBA and icfai is not one of them.

What all are you taking to Hyderabad?

I am taking my PC+ups+printer+scanner+TV tuner card(hoping to get a cable connection over there)
then formal clothes(shirts and trousers and ties) + Casual wears.
bedsheets ,pillow covers.
very few utensils, some snacks, may be an electric toaster
some books - dictionaries, gk, vocab builders, Icfai books, atlas....
some posters and cute stuff-toys( to personalize the room)
Toiletries, shoes ,slippers, watches, table clock, some stationary

any thing else that can be carried over there...

Placement scenario at ICFAI - 27-04-2005, 09:20 AM

Hey ppl. In order to know the placement details of ICFAI check www.time4education.com and go to placements b schools 2005 highlighted new.
It is really amazing that all ICFAI centres put together can still muster up an avg sal of 4lakhs. Current students plz verify this. It looks improbable.

Acco for gals near IBS, Nagarjuna Circle - 27-04-2005, 09:10 PM

Hi thr,

I came over to Hyd on 25th with parents n went to
c lots of PGs/flats/etc.............the good ones
for gals r :
1. Mother's Care
2. Gokulam - but it is fully booked :(
3. One light green @ Somajiguda

But the best thing is that Mr Satish ( owner of Satya PG )
has acquired a flat @ Flora Apt ( on the main road from
Nagarjuna Circle, less than 0.5 km frm IBS 1st yr campus )
and he is renting it out as PG. It has 3 rooms ( one small n 2 big )
n a dining hall ( with TV ) for 8 gals ( 3 + 3 + 2 ).........Myself, Tejaswini, Aru, Nisha
and Reshma have already booked 2 rooms over there, so a room
for 3 gals is vacant. Also, I've heard tht he's gonna acquire another flat in the same Apt once this one gets booked. Monthly charge :
3000 bucks ( incl brkfast, lunch, elect, washing ) No xtra charges
for laptop, but for a PC I guess it is 100 or 150 bucks. You
are allowed to use the kitchen frm 10am to 5pm. For further info,
you can contact me ( posted my no. @ yahoo grp )or Mr Satish @ 040-55827599
or 9391031314. The flat will be ready on 1st of May
cuz painting n fw other jobs r yet 2 b done. Our room has a
cabinet n all n I guess for the other 2 rooms, he'll b
providing a steel almirah. Also, being just 8ppl, v'll hv full
ctrl over the quality of food.

I'm suggesting it cuz it is more like a flat without
all the disadvantages of a flat cuz he's giving the cot, mattress,
table, chair, almirah n a kitchen !

Regards,
Aparna

Credibility of ibs hyd/ibs ggn - 28-04-2005, 11:55 PM

hi ppl do u think ibs hyd with some 800 chaps n ibs gur with 500 have the credibility in terms of providing 100% placements to all students with a pay scale of >=3lacs

in my view this time it might loose the edge coz ths year they have taken in a humongous number of students n the quality of placements will suffer definitely.

Throw ur comments

Cheers
