yaar ICFAI is famous for finance..the name itself clears.
regarding IISWBM --its the oldest institute in INDIA .. placements = avg 3 l.p.a.
FORE....have heard that it has the same(have heard not conformed ...additional costs are there ..and most of the big daddy sons study there..i mean rich ones) kharcha as icfai ...and is good ..have seen myself...but not worth sacrificing ICFAI for that ...
KJ SOMAiYA ... doesnt even fall near to ICFAI in any parameter ...so dude ... the decision is all urs .... but had i been at ur place i wud have given atleast a thought to IISWBM once .

thanks viv...ur info has indeed helped...im still not sure if the icfai mba is worth around 6 lacs...and iiswbm is going to cost me around 1.2 lacs...but again the icfai finance placements i hear are better when compared to iiswbm.but thats where the 3rd variable of fore comes in..sometimes i feel it would be better if i didnt have another option...also do u have any idea on the cfa program at icfai..i hear most of the papers are covered in the mba finance syllabus..

fore is ranked higher than icfai..but im not sure if finance at fore is a better bet when compared to icfai...whose brand is growing by the day inspite of it being in the news for all the wrong reasons....would love to hear more from you on this guys.

ICFAI better than TAPMI.
placements are nt the only criteria ......see the curriculum...and if believe then see the ranks also ,,,
one more thing if u take an average salary of top 200 students in ICFAI ,,,, it wud range around that of MDI n SPJAIN....

the CFA course is good for those who dnt specialize in finance. but if u plan to go for core finance then as per knowledge u dnt need CFA ,,,but if u wanna additional 1 cm space acquired below ur name ... u can always do that...but for ur info ...we have CFA exams held 4 times a year.... for this we have to enrol three mnths before the exam...as for the july exam we need to register before 31st march...after that we ll b having exams in oct ...so if u are still dicy of taking up CFA u always have time once u join the institute.... get there... gather some more info ,,,and then decide whether the course is made for u ..and vice versa:neutral::smilecol:

hello guyz

thanx a lot buddy 4 ur thoughts.i appreciate with open heart n yeah i agree with u regarding the institute.

2 introduce myself ........i m paresh from new delhi n got icfai hyderabad on 14th,may b that was the valentine gift from ibsat people n now i m also feeling strongly about icfai that its one of the most reputed institute around.but the other side of the coin is that i want 2 specialise in marketing.thats the only reason why i m confused if icfai is a good option.although i realise that marketing market will not let the students of icfai down but stilllll.........hope u understand my situation n wud agree with me.

guyz plz advice wat 2 do n wat not 2.and i hv heard that icfai hyderabad will b shifting 2 new campus......can any1 tell me when that is due 2 happen?n any1 interested in sharing room in hyderabad.

all the guys interested in icfai hyderabad plz pm me n yeah if i say then i dont ignore gals plz feel free 2 pm me.

waiting

take care n cheers

Just to add on it seems that we can take up a part of cfa now and rest later. One of my fam friends who have a rich exp in icfai as proff gave me this advise. She said along with fin this will do a lot of good to me esp as i am an engg.Anyway we have time as my friend rightly pointed out.

Hey guys cant we findout how many freshers and exp are there in our batch as the process is over (using a poll or something like that)

First of all, 3cheers for starting a thread with ICFAI hyd as the subject.... gr88 job.

Mr. beimaan ji, where did u get all this info, (CFA course gud for ppl who dnt specialise in finance), u better talk to a lot of ppl before sharing ur perception, Listen mate, if u r taking up MBA finance, it's highly advicable tht u do a CFA, trust me, The CFA course literally has more value than ur MBA degree from ICFAI, well it has 3levels - with 12 papers in each level, even if u can complete 2levels in those 2yrs tht we study, it is mindblowing, but most ppl end up completing only 1level, coz it's diff to balance all at the same time, but when I had been to the interview on the 11thfeb, there was a presentation made by our seniors abt SAP, they were ref to a guy, i guess some amit.., who had done his MBA finance, CFA all 36 papers and earned a total of 12lacs in those 2yrs frm SAP, well thts inhuman, but it jus shows anything is possible.

Whatever I have jus said is all factual and not of anyone's imagination. Listen CFA adds more value to ur finance degree, jus tell me why a HR or a Marketing person shud be intrigued to complete his CFA course, absolutely no connection, trust me completing ur CFA course is tough as hell, yes there might be papers which are similar to the ones tht we write for mba finance, still frm the ppl whom I have spoken to (who r curr doing their cfa) , it's a few notches higher than clearing our papers in our normal finance curriculum.

No offence meant, but plz when u post, do verify them, the others shud not be mislead.

When the going gets tough, The tougher gets going.
