hey i can see that the competition is getting stiffer day by day . i spoke to another freind of mine who had his gd/pi today . he was grilled on his hobbies and his goals (general stuff) . so probably it depends on panel to panel i feel.

hey jacob if u could plz ask your brother to clarify this

1 amity like wellingkar is also offering 4 diff courses( pgdm, mba,mba(hr)...)
one thing i know about wellingkar is that when placements take place they never differentiate between students of diff courses(mms and pgdm) .... ie all students are eligible to sit for placement interviews .

IS THIS THE CASE WITH AMITY TOO?

or does amity prioritise the placements with the pgdm students walking off with the best offers ??

VANS be cool man remember even the panel is entitled to their own opinion . yes your score should carryy some weightage . ive personally met a pgite who was literally thrown out of iitd interview last year but he was still selected. . HERE IS A TRANSCRIPT OF HIS INTERVIEW

First of all sid_rattlesnake buddy i found u a really mast person and its guys like u who really can excel under stress environment.Keep it up buddy and hope to meet u again.
Okie so guys and gals(if any) here's wat unfolded in front of my eyes on 5th.

Movie:"Hoga jaane mera ab kya"
Scene:Grad_sid's GD/PI
Actor:grad_sid(in a never seen before role)as THE Bakra.

Group discussion:-My first GD it was so naturally i was excited.There were 16 of us and we all were seated in a linear fashion like that in a railways waiting room(So all those dreams of fighting on a circular table etc vanished!)
The panel sat right in front of us and consisted of 3 elite members and 2 students(Elaan!).We were given the caselet(No GK frnds no Gk at all).
Caselet:-The main thing was quality vs quantity.A company was there with a brand image but it was on the declining path because of conventional methods and conservative budget.Plus there were internal problems like employee conflicts,problems related to the product like price hike etc.
We had to provide a solution and i think there was no resemblance to a fish market out there.We all got chances to speak and all of us barring a few spoke to our hearts content.
For me it went quite well.Also the gd was around 12 mins or so and we were given 5 mins to think.So nothing to panic about.Its not a big deal.

After the gd was over i went back to the auditorium and was handed a psychometric test.Its just a Simple test to gauge ur abilities as a person and a manager.So do it a bit carefully.124 questns in 20 odd mins.Dont worry if u cant complete the whole thing.

A hearty lunch which was of a very gud standard and the final phase began.
After a long wait my name was finally called and i was there at the door of the room where i was to be 'halal'ed'.
A girl(student not much gud looking) came and called my name and said please come in and as i entered i felt like a bakra and heres wat happened.
Inside there were the same 3 elite members and 2 students.
Bakra(ME):-May i come in?
Elite1:ya sure
Sat down on the chair
Elite1:So Mr ... how r u?
Bakra:Fine ,sir thank u!(Learnt this from a book)
E1:So u a bengali or pahadi or south indian- wat?
B:I am bengali sir.
E1:U know mr adhikari in FMS?
B:I have heard his name but dnt know him(I had heard his name that moment only hehe)
E1:Ok tell me sumthing abt urself
B:Blah blah blah
E1:So u have an IT backgrnd!(Luks at the student1 and nods at her)
Student1:Wats dynamic linking?
B:Blah blah
S1:Wats static linking?
B:Well i tred to say but got confused and well said not sure
S1:Wats call by reference n call by value
B:Hohohhohoho ab aaya na maza n i gave all that same old stuff about parameters n arguments
S1:How do we implemnt both in C?
B:I cudnt find a suitable answer as i really cudnt get wat she wanted!!!
Elite1:Y shud we choose u?
B:Blah blah n amity is best(i spoke under some circumstance)
E1:How u know its best?Who told u that?
B:GAve some story about talking to students n going thru the site,rankings etc.
E1:Wat r ur strengths?
B:Spoke like a champion.
Elite2(finally):Ur weakness?n support with example
B:again phod diyo with a heart wrenching story of iit failure.
E2:How will u overcome it?Wat steps r taking to do so?Plz give examples also
B:Again story, spoke some utter rubbish about doing some meditation,focus exercises etc.
Elite3:U were too soft in the Gd!!Y?(hello kya tha yeh soft to no way)
B:Soft?I dont think so mam.I think i did pretty well in my GD
Then they tried to say this 3 times but i didnt budge from my stand.
E1:Ok ok u did participated a lot in Gd but the leadreship wasnt there.
B:Its not in my strengths n i am trying to cultivate that habit too as it is necessary in curses like mba
Student2:Wat is VPN?
B:Told sumthing abt virtual private network and then added that sorry but i dnt have much knowledge in this matter.
S2:Wat sort of data communication we use in VPN?How it is used?What advantages it has over a Value added network?
B:Now i again didnt had a single clue wat she wanted because i had tld her that i dont know nething abt VPN!!
E2:Ok so u have a positive attitude and ur strngths n weakness match with wat u have written
E1:Nebody wants to ask him nething?
They all said no
E1:Thank u it was nice to meet u
B:Same here!!Thank u!

So frnds this is my story.As u can see Domain knowledge is very much important and so is maintaining wat u ahve mentioned in ur form.
I am now virtually out of the race but i did wat i cud.

Hi guys, they day was very hectic at amity but must say pretty impressed by the infrastructure and hospitality shown by amity. The day started with a brief about amity, presentation, then quite enjoyable speech by its founder, Mr Ashok Chauhan. At about 12:25 the selection procedure began. It began by a psycometric test which had 2 sections, one having something like social circle and another a usual psychometric test where we have 2 choices. There were 18 quest in social study … and about 124 questions in psychometric test and time given was 25 min!. Hardly anyone could finish all ques but that was of nothing to be worried about. Then gd process was started. There people were divided into 8 boards and each board being subdivided into A and B. About 15 to 16 people were there in each group (i.e. A or B). the topic given to us was a caselet showing situation where a certain MBA in a company who has newly joined has problem with a person who is there for 20 and is senior to him years becoz that person is not sincere and disturbs him very often and interrupts with his work and also spreads rumours in the office and stuff…so the ques was if u were in that MBAs place, how would u avoid him. The time to think was 5 min and to discuss about 10 min. The gd started off well but got a bit chaotic in between. Then , we were individually asked to tell each of us opinion for 45 sec. Then was lunch time. Then the endless wait for pi was started. There were about 250 people called and the procedure went for about 7 in eve. But the pi was warm, and friendly, at least in my case. They asked lil about work ex. Then %age in grad y less, some commerece basic quest like double entry system, fund flow, gross margin etc. overall a soothing gd after a long wait. And guess who I met here. I made frenz with a person and had lunch with him, until I realized towards the call for the pi that he was our own Pgiite Ullu ka Pattha, hehehe I was very surprised to see him for real, put we both burst into laughter when he introduced himself as ULLU KA PATTHA. But it was a nice exp and hope he and me both get thru.

Hey guys

What I've heard from my bro. is that PGDM and MBA placements take place together without any differentiation.
However Ib has a totally different placement commitee.Even on 4th ib guys were having their placements.
Hr has not got good placements at all.
The panelists at Amity have decided on the stress approach this time,I believe.The key to a stress interview is not to stress urself out
