i guess i know abt the institute . its in dehradun n it takes MAT scores . it is very costly(i guess ) but the placements r excellent coz oil companies take students directly . if u hav more info do tell me !!!

isnt it a private university?one of my frnz was getting admission over there last yr bt didnt join it for the same reason n also as the fees was very high...
by the way is it the institute tht's located on Dehradoon-Haridwar road abt 10KMs fm Dehradoon?

Hi UPES Aspirants,
Here is some info about UPES:

1.Placements:the first batch is going to place this year.they have two campus for MBA(oil and gas mgt.),delhi and dehradun.all PSU companies like ONGC,INDIAN OIL,HPCL etc had refused to recruit students as they told that we r taking students only from IIT''s and Top 10 institutes and also said we r having some norms and rules.so till now 22 students has been placed from dehradun centre.main recruiters were ADANI EXPORTS,BPCL,GUJRAT PETROCHEMICAL,PUNJLLOYD etc.RELIANCE Energy is planning to recruit.
salary is ranging from 2.2 lakh to 4 lakh CTC.but it depends on your previous experience,projects etc.UPES enjoyed very good summer Placements in very good companies like PWC,INDIAN OIL,BPCL,HPCL,SHELL,RELIANCE,ADANI EXPORTS,ETC.

2.Fee is 75,000/sem i.e a total of 3lakh,it excludes hostel facilty and industrial visits.

3.Infrastructure wise UPES is very Bad.they have only a very small bulding in front of nehru place market and behind NOS office.they would provide u study material but it is damn bad.Dehradun Campus is also bad in terms of Infrastructure but now they r shifying to new campu measuring 20 Acres and 10 km from Dehradun.But Construction is going on and would take around 2 years to complete.I dont know much about dehradun campus but if u go to delhi campus i think u won't take admission.rest depends on u.and i heard that faculty wise they r good.guest faculty are from MDI,DU,FORE etc.

*Tell me how is the infrastructure of UPES "energy acres" campus.
is the insti worth joining?
*i heard that 30 students were taken by HPCL for their petro retailing outlets on the golden quadrilateral on a temporary basis and they counted them in the plcmnts stats. is it true.
*what is the medain package there?
*how good is it for a btech comp sc guy
*they have recently started mba in aviation, shipping management. is it worth applying
*Is UPES a private university?
* The name of the university doesn't figure out in AIU (Association of Indian Universities). why
*The AICTE website mentions names of approved institutions for MBA under two sections:
i. List of Stand-Alone MBA Institutions
ii. List of MBA Institutions (MBA as an additional course)
But there is no mention of UPES in any of the two lists. why so

* Is the UPES MBA degree recognized only in the State of Uttaranchal ?
