Bata History

The business that became the Bata Shoe Organization was established on August 24, 1894 in Zlin, Czechoslovakia by Tomas Bata, and included his brother Antonin and sister Anna. Although this business was new, the Bata name had been part of a tradition of shoemaking for eight generations, spanning three hundred years.

Hi - 02-01-2005, 03:16 PM

I was sleepy during the test..and guess what the Lengthy English passages.kinda put me off.
I attempted all the questions in the paper...That s right 196 in all and as lomi said..Even I calculated the total value of marks and it s around 104-105 cant figure that one out yet...In anycase I dont have any hope of making it..
It was plain pattern markings ..if you know what I mean....
Anywayz..me had a lot of fun...Next week is XAT...I guess I atleast stand a small chance at that.................
ATB Pals...But good to know that all of you guys also found the paper tough..I thought it was just me...Being a Bcom guy .with a lot of Trig and vectors and what not....

Well seems that this year nothing is working out for me......
First came the CAT debacle......and i dont see any change in the pattern....

Never expected IIFT exam to be this tough...
RCs were length and had options which were pretty close...
DI/LR were also not that easy and Quant was similar to the JMET exam with all the sin,cos Tan and other vector questions....
GK...i just cant comment as i really dont know how many are correct for i had to take some chances here...
Overall i dont see any chance of getting a call....

And have to comment on the way the exam was managed....
Question papers were distributed some 10 min before time and did not even have a seal on it...
Most of the students started the paper the moment they got it...
OMR was given only at 9.55 AM....wondered at a point whether i have to mark my answers on the paper itself....

Lets me see what is instore for me next week.....
Hope for a better performance in XAT....

shocker uh?????? - 02-01-2005, 03:48 PM

First of all, no doubt the paper was tough. Its unanimously been agreed too. The best part was the change in weights. So even if Bcom ppl like Rahul din score that much in Quant, it can be taken care of by higher VA and Di.
My take on it is that the cutoff should not be anything above 40
LAST YEAR NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE CUTOFF WAS. As someone pointed out 45 odd was superflous.
IIFT shall never disclose what the scores of selected candidates were.
As there is no sectional cut off, those whove done 2 sections real well should expect a call.
In a tough paper it is necessary you keep rolling and make it into the top 500 odd wholl get the call. Its tough for everyone.
It seems only justified IIFT had a tough paper to go with the tough and challanging routine of IIFT.
So besties everyone. Dont lose sleep over it, results should be out around 25th. Hope for the best!

iift--interestingly intoxicating freaking test - 02-01-2005, 03:50 PM

hi guys....my paper was as u guys not good.....the biggest mistake i did..was blindly marking answers when abt 2 minutes were left for the paper..i thing i had abt 7-8 tukkas ..and that also blind tukkas...i guess it wasthe feeling that anyways hone nahi waala so try the fluke game...verbal was too boring..the rc passages sucked..such long passages and very few questions.....quant was ok..i did abt 25-30 in that section...gk was bad...logical reasoning was ok..but other di had lot of calculations....wonder when the results are coming...but yes after listening to ur reactions..i have few hopes as i am not the only one...so cut offs cold be lower....
abt the management in my centre...it reminded me of snap...paper given abt 10 min before time...no seal....a real old invigilator..who kept yawning and farting..and knew nothing ....we had to tell him that answer sheets were in the file below which was clearly visible to us.....
cat was really bad..then came jmet..which went fine but then one never knows...and then came snap....how good ..no one really knows....let us hope for the best...best of luck to everybody for results.....
