Well abt my process.

My essay topic was 'Western imperialism:means to control it'.I don't remember the other two topics.My GD topic was 'Are trade unions a threat to industry?'We had two GD topics n mutually we had to select one.They give a time of 2 mins for select9ing the topic mutually.
I have already told you abt interview.They asked me abt my job profile,reasons for leaving job,city of graduation,political situation in Vidarbha,n most of all why HR?

It's a gr8 atmosphere to study.There is not much of fierce competition amongst batchmates.Infact people hardly ask each others marks.You are treated in the same manner whether you r a topper or amongst the lowest scorers!More abt it afterwards.

Hey Vinay!!! Do u have any idea whether TISS has any preference for ppl with work ex??? Do freshers from a non engineering background stand a chance?

To clear the confusion,there is no psychometric test!Also there's no such thing as impressing the jury!!!I was lucky that my GD group was very co-operative.Infact.I spoke just 2-3 times.We had decidd that everybody would get their chance as per the sitting arrangement n then speak.

As far as PI is concerned I was relaxed.I just chatted with the fellow people before the exam while everybody else was tensed!I wore a formal dress but didnt wear a tie.Took a deep breath before the interview and went in the room.It was funny seeing people being tensed and praying for quite a while.As i've told you don't lie.Tell them abt your CAT,Xat n other things is they ask.Coz our HOD who was there in the panel last year is the founder dean of IIM,Indore n was there for 2-3 yrs.Know about your basics in graduation.Psychology students pls be thorough.Coz the HOD knows everything abt Psychology!

during ur interview day how many were there in the GD group and how many ppl were shortlisted from the GD grp to the PI and from ur PI grp how many apart from u eventually made it...any clue??

Hi Vinay

For the benefit of those (including Myself) whose GD's /Essay are after the first day ...Just wanna know..if the topics keep repeating....or is it that each day they come up with new new topic...and it does not repeat....

..one more...Frankly speaking...I took XLRI....dint make it...so plannng to give my best for TISS...now ow do u answer the question.."WHY TISS" and what u know abt TISS..as i know only abt it Via..IMS magazines and PG......

Last one..."to the question...WHY HR...Frankly i my self donno....though am sure I wud njoy it.... I just wanna get out of S/W Industry..which is true....and given a choice between HR/marketing i wud prefer the latter...But TISS being a premier institue offers only HR....I opt that...NOW....I cant gve this as an answer....so how do u go abt.............Inputs welcome from Ananthalaxmi/Mystique as well.....

Replying to DonB's query,

I had a group of 10 in my GD.Out of these 3 made it to the interview.N out of the 3 i was the only one who got selected.
Now to Ram's query,
It depends on the individual character why he/she makes a choice.Frankly speaking,I am not the person to give your answer of why HR?It also depends on the 250 words sketch which you wrote.The panel will assess your character rom it and ask questions that way n also expect answers related to it.I request all to read the sketch you wrote n keep a copy of it while coming to Mumbai.
Someone had asked whether there is any preference for work-ex people.There is no clear answer for this.Coz we have 10 people with work-ex .In our seniors though i was 6.

i wanna clarify my question again...on ur Day 1 what were the total no of ppl called for that day and of that total how many got in for the PI

on my day around 225 were called n 37 got shortlisted for the interview n 1 i.e me was finally selected.
