Although I like the concept of such activities, I have to believe that they are not officially supported by the bschool itself.
So, we won't be allowing "Official Threads" et al on the forum, unless you have authorization from your alma-mater

Until then, feel free to start threads in the capacity of being an individual student

This is in individual capacity...
I know how much PGforum helps ppl in solving their queries.. being an active member last year....so i decided to start this thread to just facilitate a one stop help facility...
this will help all of us track all the related info on one thread.. rather than visiting and updating multiple threads...
So I guess that does explain my status..

Although I understand your concern and you are right, the wording of the sentences convey a very different meaning

That was the part that made me assume that your bschool also had a role in this thread, which obviously it doesn't

Just edit out the thread to clarify that you as a student are helping and its not a bschool intiative or comment.

Hey PG,
let the thread continue....
I had been talkin to Satyen (posting as Xavyen) about startin a similar thread.....the way other insti people have done....
Though Maloy started the thread.....
the purpose is just simple to have just one thread for queries and info regardin the insti...instead of traversing through multiple threads.....
ciao,
Gaurav

Hi Mik,
about ur query:
Faculty: Student: fac ratio is fairly low....
though i wud say...it doesnt actually matter....
co it is the different area faculty count wich matters coz in any insti there r two or three streams wich are dominant....
Our marketing faculty....i wud rate our marketing and fin faculty to be real gud (this includes permanent and also the visitin faculty (those wich visit regularly))

Sys@XIMB is real gud.....this is reiterated by the fact that many cos. recruit for top sys jobs from us....

HR@XIMB....is rising - and we r now a part of NHRD network since past one year and are active member in it.....

from our batch onwards Ops is startin to look more active...and hopefully will continue to do so....

There have been few unique courses wich our insti has started.....and finding B Schools teachin those courses in India will be a difficult task.....and if they have den they havin a suitable faculty for it might be rare....

Though i must admit u will also have a great time here searchin for lousy profs coz they do exist...without them no insti can run

PLACEMENTS: this has been discussed in gud detail in threads earlier....average sal was 4.65L....
tell wat info u exactly need regardin placements....
u can use the following link:
http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/viewtopic.php?t=1997
another link u can traverse thru is:
http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/viewtopic.php?t=3318
http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/viewtopic.php?t=2750
a bit of warfare here: (do not reactivate it plzzz)
http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/viewtopic.php?t=2877

these were all carried out last year...gud for quick reference

and wat do u mean by: diff. level wrt to admission?

Also u can visit www.highwaystar70182.blogspot.com
(will try to update it soon)
chalo ciao,
Gaurav

Relax buddy ... that is exactly the reason why we are here... to answer alll your queries....
First the faculty and placement details.....

PLACEMENTS :
The placements in XIMB show the position it holds in the corporate world. Aided by economic boom and alumni support, the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), has emerged as one of the favourite hunting grounds for the corporate recruiters. The institute has achieved 100% placement for its 2002-2004 batch surpassing all its previous records.

Within only 30 hours of start of placement season, all the 116 students (PGDM batch) were grabbed by various companies. But more than the number of offers, it is quality of jobs and salary packages received by the students, which is important. The average salary offered was Rs. 4.65 lakhs.
For more details of the placement procedure please refer to the attached document.
