Hi krishnalokam,
well LIFE @ XIMB,
well wat do u expect to do in a B School.....
work work n work....
dat is right but then the first thing u need to learn wen u enter a B School campus is Time Management....its THE most important thing....

Second thing is you need to set priorities....for urself.....do u wanna excel academically, or wanna enjoy urself while u can......and learn alongside.....

neways......the life @ ximb rocks.....
we do work here...infact put in night outs to do projects.....
Though i did Bachelors in IT.......still the real multi taskin i learnt here.....

it may be quite possible somedays that u come back from class at 9:45 PM.......
and den u also have to do assignments or prepare for quizzes....

well dat seems to be the horror part....and dat is where time mgt. enters....

well another face of XIMB is dat....we people enjoy ourself to the max.....infact on 6th November was the last day our cultural event "Dhwani" in wich we had performance by Jagjit Singh........

On some days (infact nights) the campus gets into disco mood and Disco is set up right on the campus...for that time and these parties are called JLT (Just Like That)......

This is a short description......
A shorter description can be :
"Work Hard, Party Harder"

There is another article on life here on my blog....link is given below......
Also in some other threads on XIMB, life @ XIMB has been mentioned earlier.......
its fun to be here.....am gonna miss these years here......like nething....

Chalo dats all for now.....hopin Satyen wud give a fresh perspective......
ciao,
Gary

ok pooja....

yeah diwali was great n I expect that it was also great for u.......

About the strengths n weaknesses; one can think of thousand things to write. But one thing u should remember is that, u r going to answer each of them when u go to the interview stage.

Now answering such questions is really tricky bcoz there can be so many ramifications which may lead to many more questions.

Now for expl.. u write ur weakness as too much workalcoholic. Now one will ask u how can this a weakness?? The answer may be, I ignore even my physical strain factors while I work. so it becomes a strength in disguise of weakness.

similarly, a weakness can be related to ur impatienceness. now u can answer for this like, when some target I set for myself, at times due to continuous failures of 3 to 4 times I get frustrated n impatient which results in lapse in conc.

Now when u answer like this, the next question automatically follows is what u r doing to improve on these weaknesses??

Prepare some answers for them also.

Remember one thing, sometimes as per our gains we have to conceal our real weaknesses.

Everytime u get an opportunity of PI, just try to be rational while answering as well alert. some areas where u r not comfortable but asked questions.... for expl. in acads, u can always tell from the beginning that I am not comfortable in that area. U can ask me any other subject. But u should be master in that subject u r giving him/her the option.

I hope it will help u in filling the strengths n weaknesses.

Do not worry about the PIs n GDs now. concentrate on CAT now.

ALL THE BEST FOR CAT!!!!!

Do well n let me know how it went.

Its time to go for XAT!!!! - 08-12-2004, 06:41 PM

Hi All,

After a strenuous new CAT pattern, I think most of you have by now started preparing for other exams.....

As all of u now will be gearing for XAT, it is high time to distinguish it from other exams.

It is infact one such exam where people can get thru with a methodical prep. of 7 to 10 days after the preparation of CAT....

My prediction for this XAT is....

No change in pattern............... bcoz it has never happened in XAT before )

Get ur VA+RC part strong as it is having the max weightage. Then the next is quant section where u will perform depending up on the difficulty level it sets this year.....

It is just one section where people have failed in XAT before even after scoring exceptionally in the other sections

Yes my friends XAT do have individual sectional cut offs.......

so, if quant comes tough then initial target should be to get the cut off clear... From last few years the pattern has been set of 10 questions n there r 6 sets. The cut offs will be easily cleared if u crack any two sets. The most important distinguishing factor in quant in CAT n XAT is....

In cat u divide ur alloted time as per question...... In XAT u have to do that as per set

So, it is essential to select the right sets n then try out...

Quant geniuses plz ignore the above suggestion as u will anyhow make it.

In the GK section...... last time it was weird looking questions which were in sets again from geography, psychology etc.

So, nothing much can be done about it unless ur luck clicks that day!!!!

By now u people might have given a look to the previous year question papers........

Anymore queries feel free to ask us!!!!!
