M.A. IN PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT & INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
Eligibility: A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in
(i) Arts/Commerce/Medicine/Law/Nursing with a minimum aggregate marks of 50% (40% for SC/ST) or the equivalent grade; (ii) Science/Engineering with a minimum aggregate marks of 55% (45% for SC/ST) or the equivalent grade.
APPLICATION FORM AND INFORMATION BROCHURE are available at the Institute on cash payment of Rs.250/- per form, (Monday to Friday: 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., and 1.30 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. and Saturday 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.) OR may also be obtained through POST by sending (i) a demand draft of Rs. 300/- (non-refundable) per form, drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. (ii) A self-addressed envelope (20 cm x 25 cm), to the Assistant Registrar (Academic).

Assessment for Selection
Those satisfying the eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through the following:
Academic Background
The academic background is assessed by the overall percentage of marks secured in the Bachelor's Degree.
Essay Test
The essay test (ET) aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporary issues in the field and sensitivity to social issues, expressed through written analysis in English. The time allotted is 45 minutes. For PM and IR candidates, an objective test of 20 minutes duration may also be conducted.
Group Discussion
The group discussion (GD) aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporary issues in the field and sensitivity to social issues expressed orally in English in a group situation. The time allotted is 20 minutes.
Personal Interview
The names of the candidates eligible for interview on the basis of performance in the tests and group discussion may be announced on the same day. The interview will be held on the next working day. Candidates are requested to see the Notice Board for the exact timing of their personal interviews. Candidates not eligible for interview should immediately vacate the hostel, if availed of it, to make room for other candidates.
