Hi all,
SRCC is one of the premier institutes and GBO one of the finest courses in DU in term of placement and ROI.

BUt the there is one very big problem which happens with the written examination process.

There are no sets in the question paper and there is rampant cheating which takes place in the centres which are alloted namely which fall in the university premises.

This was prevalent last year and since the written exam carry a whopping 75% weightage, this becomes a real burning issue as lot of bright minds are left behind in the race to the seats.

I hope students of GBO would take note of this and also try and update the college authorities about these incidents.

Talking about placements at GBO last year, I don't agree that 90% of the batch was placed.

I think the number was less than what is quoted.

But the students who were placed, are in big organizations with handsome pay packages.

I have written this post because I think people have the right to know about the status of the course which they are applyibg to.

Well it is understandable that last year due to recession 90%(or even less than that as you mentioned)are placed...What about the previous batches???And does this copying trend follow every year???No authorities to regulate or what!!!

Thanks for raising such issues.....see as far as placements r concerned as i mentioned bfore that initially college didnt allow any companies below 5 lakh packages...so many regular recruitors resisted 2 recuit as most of them were financial companies and that sector was mostly affected...SRCC believes more on quality of profile that is being offered and last year placements were certainly not impressive but much better than many other MBA courses....As far as stats is concerned I got it frm placement cell and it may include the students who found the placements themselves...So no questions on Authenticity of data its 100% correct.....i could have given high figures and anybody could have believed it seeing the reputation of institute in the corporate world.....

YES, now another imp. query....cheating...i agree sets were not there last year but friend when the competition is for meagre 31 seats(general) then atleast i cant rely on my neighbour....and i think its same for any well prepared aspirant....I was very upset last year when there were some posts in pagalguy regarding copying but it came out 2 be completely wrong when results came out....I got AIR 22 in written exam and MY Test Centre was MUMBAI....I m the only candidate who got selected froM MUMBAI centre ...and there were total 16 test centres last year....we have students from each one of them not only from Delhi...

So don't believe on such rumours till final results comes out....But i still believe that Paper must be in Sets as it makes exam more transparent...I will raise this issue to college authorities.....Thanks for ur POST once again....

And feel free to raise any doubts....Transparency should start from here itself...

It does not matter if paper is in sets or not. Cheaters will always cheat in any exam

Let me give an example of a very big exam in India:

When i entered the exam hall ... I saw people chatting

I did not know the reason ..Thought they must be from same college or something

But then understood from their conversation that they are all from same coaching centre

They know each other very well...including strengths and weaknesses

As usual the invigilator was a happy go lucky type guy who had come to do time pass in the exam hall

That is a general trend you can see in many places and individuals

So these people inspite of different sets where still chatting and doing the exam

SO FORGET IT .................. AFTER ALL THIS IS INDIA

When we do not want to improve any system then why blame it

Hi guys

i m a student of gbo 1st year and will also try and answer your queries from now on...
about the forms... they r not yet out... but r expected to be available anytime now as the forms of fms and dse are out..
the last date is around the 10th or 20th of december..
and the exam is held usually on the 4th sunday of january.. (last yr- 25th january)

the exam is not really tough.. infact its on the easier side.. but then the cutoff increases... last yr .. general category cut off was 346 ( 160 questions , 4 marks each.. therefore 640 marks paper). other category s cut off was lower..

so speed becomes as important as accuracy... and the g.k section of 40 questions is really critical.. as it can give an upper hand to those who excel in gk... english , maths n di /lr questions are also of easy to medium level... so in a time frame of 120 mins one can solve 130+ questions...

gd s have around 8 candidates (the no. may reduce if some1s absent) and lasts around 8 mins with a min to think.. topics are generally abstract... ( this year all the topics were..)
pi lasts around 10 mins and is general n based on the form n essay given by you.. no stress interviews.. comfortable n chilled out..

and about the waiting list... we had 2 waiting lists and the last person to enter had a wait list no. 20..
