This is a question I would love to answer.
International Business(IB) as a course offers you a big set of domains with unlimited opportunities. However, IB alone is not offered to you at SIIB, it comes along with a specialization viz Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain and Human Resource. International Business being the base of your domain, you master your interest with not only domestic knowledge but also with international practices.
Example if you choose to take marketing at SIIB, you will be trained on fine tuned curriculum that any other good B-School may offer, along with which you will be taught International trends and practices of marketing. And no matter what specialization you choose, you will be a master at International Business as a specialization also, offering you a degree of MBA-IB, Marketing at the end of it.
This makes the program very rigorous but a preferred course for many industries.
While applying for SIIB, you will not be asked the specialization but the course you intend to apply (IB, AgriBusiness, Energy and Env.). You choose the specialization once you complete your first semester.
Thanks
