Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) for admission to Symbiosis Postgraduate degree programs
Overview - SNAP Test for Symbiosis Postgraduate Programmes Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common written test for the admission to all Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University [SIU] established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India.
It is a mandatory written test for admission into any Post-Graduate programme offered by the Constituent Institutes of SIU. However, it is only the first step. In addition, a candidate has to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission to the Post-Graduate programmes of that Institute. A student aspiring to do higher studies at SIU needs to do the following:
Stage-1: SNAP Test - Register online at www.snaptest.org
- You need to upload a latest scanned photograph of own at the time of SNAP Online Registration.
- Follow the instructions for payment of Test fee of Rs. 1500/- on this website.
- Any Changes in the online application form may be made only till the closing date of Registration, November 24, 2009 Tuesday. No change is permitted in any data in any of the categories after Tuesday, November 24, 2009, under any circumstances.
- All disputes between candidate and the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of Pune city and by Arbitrator only.
- From Dec 7, 2009, Monday onwards till Dec 20,2009, print “Admit Card” from the website.[www.snaptest.org]
- Bring the Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof to the Test Center.
(Candidates should note that authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of the institutes. If the Admit card is lost, no duplicate Admit Card will be issued. It should be preserved till all processes are over).
- Appear for the Test.
- SNAP Score will remain valid for admission to all Post Graduate Programmes of SIU for the academic year of 2010-11.
Stage-2: Submit Application fee to the desired constituent institutes of SIU. - Pay Rs.1000/- as Institute Application fee to the chosen institutes as instructions given on institute website.
- To apply to an institute a candidate must register for the SNAP 2009.
- The SNAP website allows a facility for online payment for application fee for many of these institutes along with online payment of SNAP fee. Complete the application procedure of the desired institute.
- Candidate may also apply from the institute website.
- Candidate can apply to more than one institute.
Stage-3: Attend the call for further selection process of the chosen institutes. - Each institute has its own method for arriving at a cutoff, depending on its focused field as mentioned in the prospectus. For example, one Institute may have lower importance for Quantitative Section while some other Institute may have a higher importance for the same section.
- The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process.
- The individual institutes as per their schedules will announce admission results.
- For details of selection process and schedules please refer to the websites of respective institutes or contact the Institutes directly.
Important - Mere scoring in the SNAP Test does not entitle any right to the candidate to be called for further selection process [e.g. group discussion, personal interview] of admission to any Symbiosis Institute.
- While adequate care is taken in ensuring that there are no mistakes in reading the answer sheet by the scanning machine, there is no provision of revaluation of the answer sheet of any candidate.
- The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
- The SNAP Score card will be available on the website for a period of one month from the date of declaration of results i.e. up to February 12, 2010 Friday.
A candidate may take a print-out of the result.
Payment of Fees through Demand Draft / Cash.
- Those candidates paying through cash or DD, should ensure the following
- Axis Bank Challan for cash payment, or
- Demand Drafts and Payment Advice Form for DD payment;
Get a demand draft for Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalize Bank in favour of
“Symbiosis Test Secretariat”. Payable at Pune.
Should reach Symbiosis Test Secretariat by December 1, 2009 Tuesday.
