hey krishnakranth..
same here...
as a first-time-applicant since jmet was declared before tiss i applied for it first..i dint dream that d dates would clash
later when i realized both the dates are clashing..i was like
even i was confused what do i choose...
d exam most engineering students aspire to clear or tiss-the premier institutes for HR......
i chose to apply 4 tiss also...n i'll be answering tiss
its all the matter of ur preference...i love HRM so i chose tiss
n NO
atleast i wont regret this decision
...n as long as ur sincerely interested in HRM&LR..neither would u
all the best..

According to me everyone who is posting in this thread has made a good decision.
JMET and TISS has thier own level of importance.
We have selected TISS lets give a good shot at it.

Hey Puys,
I've been giving the TISS HRM&LR entrance for the last 2 yrs.. having been shortlisted once for GD&PI.. Hoping to be lucky third time around :-)
I was just reading the brochure and it mentions an intake of 59 seats for HRM&LR course. Also while reading up on the reservations applicable this year, It came upto 52.5% reserved seats. (27% - OBC, 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 3% PWD) as per the brochure with full 27% OBC quota applicable from 2010-12 batch onwards. (*Ref Page 6 - Brochure)
Just wanted a clarification from anyone informed about the correct interpretation of this information. Does this mean that we will have only 47.5% of the batch size as open seats which amount to a paltry 28 seats? If true, this would lead to very strong competition and considering we always have approx 12,000 - 15,000 applicants every year, the Applicant to Converts Ratio would be 1:530 odd which compared to the approx ratio of IIM 1:150 is outrageous!!! All the best to everyone!!

Hello,
According to my knowledge, reservation seats are not included within these 59 seats. Reservations are excluding the GC seats of 59. However it would be best to check with the admin team of tiss for better clarification
Cheers!

there are in total 59 seats...including all reservations...so we will be fighting for only those 28 seats ...now the competition is really tough..cant help it, can you...take it in a positive way that you need just 1 seat to be over there

Hey Thanks for the info ... I apprecite your positive point of view ... its relly nice
Can you please assist me with this -
Since these reservations are included within the 59 seats; in case an OBC candidate does not make it within the initial 27% of quota, will he be in line competing for the general category seats (28 ) with others?

well an OBC will get a general category seat only when he qualifies for TISS without any reservations...because OBC cut-off will definitely be less than the GN cut-off so in no way a person who cant get through OBC quota can compete with GN students since the GN cut-off will be much higher than the OBC cut-off
but if an OBC student clears the GN cut-off for TISS he, in all probability, will be given a GN seat
