also please form groups in this forum and plz start contributing..i am so happy to see drabir already doing tht..pitch in anything and everything that u have..be it buisness g.k, general stuff, hr stuff,case studies..anything..dont just read what others post..start contributing yourself..it not only keeps up your enthu..it would also make u do some research and reading..and if u can, post case studies if u can come across and then have a general discussion about it
read the previous threads and you will get to know the pattern of our preparation..
the mantra is to build your perspectives..and as i said study probability nicely for maths...
plus always understand that for tiss gk and hr exam u cant be 100% prepared..so do the best you can and party hard.

Are the timings of both TISS and JMET different ??
|
yes you are right this was the case last year too
you have to choose between jmet/tiss
and i dont think that tiss people will release the timing of the exam now...last year we got to know the timing with the receipt of the admit card
but tiss exam will start at round about 9-10 in the morning....if you are appearing for just one say HRM&LR then your exam will last for 2 hrs (Part 1&2)
in any case jmet will also start at about the same time..so i dont think you'll be able to appear for the both the exams...

To put my mate daemon's reply in perspective, G.K and business knowledge are not the only things which will get you into TISS. The main thing is the quant , D.I and probability, english grammar etc which are the sure shot questions. They are easy and so speed often becomes the differentiating factor. So start working earnestly on your tables, reciprocals, squares, cubes, bayes theorems , probability distributions etc etc in addition to the reading suggested by daemon!!

hi
hey guys all courses @ TISS have their written exam in 2 stages. but what should a person do if he is applying for 2 courses.
e.g: i plan to apply for both hospital administartion & HRM courses. so how do i give my 2nd part of the written exams?
And can anyone also shed light as to whether a BSc botany graduate [non - medical field] do an MBA in hospital administration???

@suy@ash
i donno about the first question...answering your second question, there are ppl in my class that have applied to all three courses.The only thing which you need to be ready is with an answer as to why are u applying to these courses..there are no readymade answers for this..it all depends on your perspective and plz be very clear with your answers..if they feel that you are making it up then its game over.If you have a reason for this choice, then by all means go ahead
@bilious
tiss is very particular about diversity and try to maintain a 50:50 ratio when it comes to workex-freshsers, guys-girls etc..so dont consider yourself unfortunate if you dont have a work ex..try to bring something new to the table, an interesting viewpoint, an aspect about the subject which you are passionate about etc and be very clear about ur basics reg your subjects..they will grill you on that
@iolahardy
dont worry, if you have applied for multiple courses, the timnigs would be taken care of..you dont have to worry on that
yes there are ppl from non medical backgrounds who do their MA in hospital admin..but what i have heard is they have to slog a lot because most of the course is greek and latin for them because of its heavy use of medcal terminology..and tiss doesnt have an mba.its an M.A.
