I am an engineering graduate from Pune University aspiring to join FMS. My percentage is 55.4% in engineering but the CGPA according to Pune University is 6.875/10(not sure about it though). I would like to know whether this would be taken into consideration and if I fit the eligibility criteria to appear for the entrance test. My marks are as follows:
Class 10 (CBSE): 91%
Class 12 (CBSE): 91.6%
BE (Engineering): 55.4%
Kindly let me know whether I am eligible to appear for the entrance test. Thank you.

I think if you are preparing for CAT then its sufficient for FMS ....i think if u analyze the previous questions you will know that they basically test your time management.......i think the only thing that you have to work out more is your general awareness coz thats one part that is not there in CAT.....rest will be taken care of if you are a CAT aspirant......Gud Luck...Cheers...

Hi,
I just found this thread, and found that there are some myths and misconceptions floating around. Let me clarify a few things:
1. Sectional cutoffs : None! FMS asks for a sectional eligibility of sort, where you are expected to score 50 %ile (and not 50%) in each section. Overall cutoff is around 98.5%ile
2. Work-ex: Work-ex does not have a quantized weightage in FMS. Yes, the work-ex will come into play in the interviews and might fetch some extra marks based on questions asked on your work area.
3. Past Acads: Past Acads are solely for determining eligibility. Of course, if you are too good or too bad, it tends to have an effect, but, as b4, there is no quantization here.
4. Online registration will be required.
5. Weightage to written test score: Let me explain it here with an example:
Sample case:
Written Test Score : 250/700
GD : 5/10
PI : 7/10
Extempore : 6/10
Here, your net final score will be : 250/10 + 5 + 7 + 6 = 43
Understand that if you have a lead of 70 marks over someone in the written test, he/she will have to score only 7 marks more in GD/PI/Extempore to beat you. And here, the fluctuations do happen among merit lists. The GD/PI/Extempore round scores range from 4 to 25.
Roughly, last year's cutoff was around 230/700 in the written test. Will post accurate values here soon.
Disclaimer: All values and facts posted here are based on last year's process which I went through. FMS released its complete scoresheets, with the GD/PI/Extempore marks included this year.
