IIIT Pune - MBA???

Hello everyone,
I require some assistance here. Does anyone have info about the MBA in Advanced Information Technology programme of International Institute of Information Technology, Pune ?
Is it worth applying for?

Also, there seem to be 2 other IIITs - in hyderabad and in kolkata, and none of these seem to have any affiliation with each other.

Any light shed on this matter would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Abhi,

I passed out this year from IIIT Calcutta... IIIT C and IIIT Hyderabad have been set up by their respective state governments , while IIIT Allahabad and IIITM Gwalior have been the central govt's initiatives.
Comin back to ur query.. I think you would be ruining your career if u do an MBA from IIIT Pune.. as that's not a govt set up.. Moreover it's just been a year or two when they have started their MBA program..
My suggestion... is don't take a risk with ur career..

Thanks for your views Anupam, you certainly have a point there.
I couldnt place it exactly, but their website gave off bad vibes.

Anyody else has opinions on this matter?

hi dear..I agree with Anupam ( i m also ANUPAM ).Dont take risk of even thinking of to be a part of IIIT-Pune type of institutes....better set your priorities and then decide where do you want to go? I m a student of MBA first year (second semester) at IIITM-GWALIOR.First of all abt INFRASTRUCTURE..believe me if you come here you will definitely feel like to be part of "INDIAN INSTITUTE"..after all its a brand name ..a NATIONAL INSTITUTE and Ministry of HRD LOGO..what else do you need..the moment you join here you forget the tension of placement and thats too average of 3.2 lacs per annum..ok I do agree that profiles being offered here are mostly SYSTEMS based..so thats your decision what you want to be in future.. ITS the best BLEND of IT Training and MANAGEMENT Institute in INDIA..IIMs took decades to acquire the cult structure and MBA in IIITM-GWALIOR is 5 years old and its selling in the market..with each passing year, the number of companies visiting the campus is increasing in progressions.

@anupamsingh82 thou have made the cardinal sin of bumping up an old thread.... why dont you open a thread say Life@IIIT -Gwalior and in the appropriate sub section...? or even one for the queries? if you want to market the institute you have to do some thing concrete right? open a thread..give us a gist of the institute....obviously it has to be unbiased.... the procedure to apply,current batch profile,pedagogy,placements,infrastructure et al....something which cannot be garnered from the respective website ofcourse...

Last heard Expandinghorizon is quite busy with his IIM K,IIT-d,IIt-b and IIFT calls...not to mention his dalliances with a damsel in the capital city of you-know-which-country.. (NOt Gurgoan btw .... ) so MBA IIIT pune would be the last thing on his mind...
