FMS and IIFT analysis - 12-01-2003, 09:56 PM

Hi all,

Here is Career Forum's analysis of today's IIFT and FMS papers.
Check it out ...

http://www.cflogic.com/Mgtindia/exam...ysisiift03.htm

http://www.cflogic.com/Mgtindia/exam...lysisFMS03.htm

My attempts in IIFT were around 38-40 in section 1(quants), 20+( less ?) in section 2(reasoning), 50 in sec 3(verbal) and 48 in sec 4 GA.

So i have attempted a total of around 80 marks out of 100.

Well FMS was really different in the paper pattern and stuff.
First of all no sections ! and to top it no GK !

Well after the exam was over, I realised that the verbal part - most it was lifted straight from the FMS '99 paper. I dunno what they r testing by repeating the same questions - this was really dumb on part of the FMS chaps to repeat previous year question papers.

But the absence of GK, lent the FMS paper a touch of the cat paper. But of course the quants Qs were a cakewalk.

Anyways, I attempted abt 105-110 odd questions( way less than the 120+ questions Bharath and Gaurav were talking of at the centre). I did around 50 quant-related qs and remaining from verbal and RC. On hindsight, I think i could have done more of DI+reasoning than the RC questions - coz everything was 1 single section

Anyways all tests over for me now
(on second thoughts atleast till the end of this year )

hopefully waiting for some of those calls

I guess everyone felt the same.
Even i felt few questions were read from some paper ( not sure abt the year).Career Plan had given few test papers and EU had few questions lifted straight from them.
Bharath and gaurav 110...thats too much guys....anywayz loss of questions in General Awareness was a boon to guys like me but the likes of gaurav would have felt left out.
Hey did u guys managed to freak at some pub ysday....

Except for the filling in appropriate words the english usage part was a straight lift- not even the commas and full stops were spared.

I came across this, when my friend and I were searching for the meaning of the idiom
weigh the anchor -- somehow confused it to be the opposite of drop the anchor and was amazed to see the same set of questions in a previous paper !

I guess University programs are always like this - there is lot of weightage for reading previous years' question papers

Hello guys,
i attempted around 110 questions and the paper was kinda weird what with no GK and quant being so easy and to top it all RC passages 4 pages long.i guess cut-off will be high this time too.i do personally know a guy who has attempted 150 questions with pretty good accuracy.
ciao,
prabhu

Boy !
Is he from Mensa ?
What is he doing here - i mean writing FMS ...? He must have been doing "rocket science" - with overflowing hair and lost eyes

Hi Maverick,

I am sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask for this help.
Do you have a softcopy of the previous years papers of IIFT & FMS.

If so could please post them here.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Anubhav.
